Course they are. The trouble is though, that no one cares
just about every former mp has used their connections to lobby on behalf of others. That's how politics works. That's why the term lobbyist exists

He's a tory, and the British public that vote them in time and time again are doormats that allow tories to trample all over them. Nothing will happen with him, because the tory loving public will refuse to hold him accountable.

This kind of thing is widespread in politics like Bots said, and they should ALL be challenged, every one of them, whatever colour their politics. There's enough to do without spending endless time and resources carrying on a "he said she said" to and fro whenever someone does something reprehensible. Make an example of one of them... Cameron, for instance. As a Tory, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Full independent inquiry is what's required.
I don't agree with institutions investigating themselves in the main.
On paper, this is beginning to smell a little unsavoury.
So looking into it needs to be done.
' in the right way however'.

Arista, would you be calling this 'old news' if it wasn't a tory scandal? I don't think so.
Rules were broken, abuses of the system took place, this must be investigated and consequences doled out. 'It happened a long time ago, and plus we like the tories so let it slide' is not an excuse.

[A different lobbying story makes the front of the Daily Mail,

personally lobbied by
Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
The paper says Prince Mohammed
urged Mr Johnson to "correct" a decision

An inquiry is needed to be held more publicly, to completely re- assess the system of this issue.
With powers of recommendation of what should be in place, not decided by just politicians.
It's been bad under both Parties and not the right thing done to make it more acceptable.
However, my question is, why are the Cons and their more hard-line supporters, so wary of full public scrutiny into this or other issues too.
I have my own views why, I wonder why their hard-line supporters also are wary of public scrutiny of their own MPs, former PMs and their Party.

Where is the outrage from tory supporters? Why are they not angry that a prime minister they voted for has abused the system and their trust? When the Lib Dems betrayed everyone that voted for them by sucking tory dick, I refused to vote for them ever again, so why aren't the tory supporters more angry about this? I'd be furious if a party I voted for was involved in such heinous scandals yet Tory supporters seem content to ignore any wrongdoing.
Because tory support is a ****ing cult, that's why.

It doesn't really matter, he didn't face consequences for it because he is being protected. If anyone in a different party did this, the tories would be screaming for action and it would probably be a bigger news story.

I don't get it either Joey.
People like David Cameron give the Conservative Party a really dodgy name imo, so the supporters shouldn't want their party to be associated with him.
