One infraction is worth a months ban
Get another infraction within a month of returning you get a two month ban
Get another infraction after returning from the two ban within a month you get a four month ban
And so on

It would be only mods, Ammi, and Annie posting within 2 months

I think re-banning trolling within SD would be a good start. Nothing worse than when posters can just post the same thing over and over and then use the report button instead of the reply one to protect themselves.
Maybe more and longer section bans.

Not trolling in SD used to be a thing. I got an infraction for trolling in a wrestling thread once, and now questioning those that troll is worse than those doing the trolling. Seems ass-backwards to me.

It’s only trolling in your opinion, any one could be called a troll for posting in Meghan threads regardless of them being for or against Meghan

I was talking specifically about the SD section not about any threads, which could be posted in other sections.

I think certain things should be taken more seriously, people make death threats and get a 24 hour ban, like... hello??
The infraction system works fine most of the time.
Also if you think someone is trolling then why not use the report button instead of continually bringing it up in the threads which in part just ruins threads even further.
Even better if someone's posts bother you so much then use the ignore function.

Make me a mod and i'd sort this place out.
I think certain things should be taken more seriously, people make death threats and get a 24 hour ban, like... hello??Let's be honest here, a lot of members would be on long bans if we took things more seriously because that would include posts to others in threads that say things like 'die' which has happened plenty and when acted on we get the usual 'oh it was just a joke'
It's all selective to members depending on who posts what and who it's aimed at.

I take it that part was aimed at me as it aligns up with my post, but apologies if you were talking generally. I think when 2 "adults" are having a discussion in SD, the report button shouldn't be the cop out excuse all that it can be to avoid answering anything. I know it's an imperfect system, and that there is no perfect system but I was just giving an opinion on the thread.
But the real problem is people calling it out and not hammering the report button? We'll never align on that.
I think grassers should receive an instant infraction.
Trying to get somebody banned or silenced is the lowest of the low.

In all seriousness there are people posting daily who would be permanently banned from any other forum I've ever been a member of. I'm not "judging" per se, I actually like that this forum gives "second chances", but when people are only getting a few days or a week long ban for aggression and violent threats and then coming back and continuing to do the exact same thing, on repeat, it gets a bit daft doesn't it. A threat of violence should be a one month ban right off the bat, a 6 month ban for a repeat offence, and a **** off permanently for a 3rd. The way it's played down on here is madness.

I seem to be missing where all these repeat instances of aggressive and violent threats are happening?
Ban lengths are completely down to a members previous infraction and ban history unless its an extreme rule break then we do it manually.
I was wondering about that as well...

Ok, cool, but unless you're going to read through every discussion in every thread to read the same poster doing the same crap, he'll carry on doing the only thing he does.
It's your forum, your rules. We'll shut up and post.

I think it’s a difficult one, I kinda think ‘a peaceful’ forum isn’t achievable, trolling is always gonna happen, when people (and it isn’t exclusive to one side either) are saying things to get a rise from each other, it starts a domino effect.
There are plenty of posts that are posted on here (the majority of them being removed) that are offensive, but I truly believe the majority are to cause a rift rather than genuinely believing what they post, there’s a huge difference between a genuine transphobic/racist/homophobic/sexist arsehole and someone who has different opinions on a forum, but unfortunately when you are portraying the first one, that is how you are judged (and as I said, this definitely isn’t one sided at all, I’ve said **** I shouldn’t have said, but you live and learn) and eventually comes a time when people can’t be bothered with said forum and dealing with it.
I’ve criticised the admin team a few times, but reevaluating the situation, it is difficult finding a balance, cos bans being handed out on either side of the forum is gonna cause ****, so there really is no right way of dealing with it where everyone is happy, and there’s never gonna be.
Others have found places where they can go and discuss the stuff they want to discuss with the people they want to discuss it with and feel more comfortable around, and that’s great.
(And I fully believe this post is just waffle and will make no sense, but I did have a point... I think?)

I detest the ignore function. I don't put anyone on ignore even assholes.
In a Katie Hopkins thread, she would receive as much negative criticism as Meghan, but her threads don't go on for days and days. Why is that?
Work that one out and you might get closer to the root cause.
i think everyone should view posts while drinking a cup of herbal tea

Because nobody would defend Katie whereas Meghan is very loved.
Because nobody would defend Katie whereas Meghan is very loved. So in other words, people who agree with Katie Hopkins just allow other members to negatively criticise her, whereas people who agree with Meghan don't allow people to negatively criticise her?
Maybe that's where the root of the problem lays?
I'm just brainstorming.
If meghan markle shuts down tibb, I may resort to threats of violence...

Saying “die” isn’t really a death threat though (IMO) whereas I will do x/y/a is a lot more sinister
So you just need to use the hip and trendy jokey words that are associated with lazy, and not allowed on tibb chat anyway due to them not allowing txt speak, words.
That's a bit unfair on its older members imo.

No i meant Katie is nowhere near as loved as Meghan therefore only a few would defend Katie. Hence why Meghan threads go on so long. She's marmite but has a lot of love.
