I have fallen in love with a pair of trainers but they are pretty pricey, although I've bought almost no new clothes for 12 months so I feel like if I have the money I should treat myself

generally what would you spend on a pair of shoes?

I would spend money on boots or shoes, trainers not so much as they are not easy to keep clean and only look good when looking new

if you can afford them why not treat yourself, go for it I would say

Yeah what Cherie said really but if you love them and you can afford a treat then why not?

I view footwear as an investment. I’d probably spend £200, max

I have never paid over 50 quid fr shoes/trainers. Sometimes I think I should though, as seem to have to replace them an awful lot were sometimes its just better to pay for quality..

I mostly wear boots rather than shoes or trainers, and boots are generally more expensive. When I was a kid I needed the ankle support from boots, and while I don't need them anymore I prefer it.

The only pair of trainers I currently have are Prada, so when I'm having a "slob day" or whatever I can't exactly wear them :joker:

The most I paid was £180 for a pair of timberlands last year, but I also just bought three pairs of trainers that were between £40 & £70 each

I swear that much would buy me almost a full new wardrobe

Mind, if you can afford it and its not ging to leave you struggling (assume not, especially if you havent bought clothes in 12 months) go for it. I may just be slightly jealous that others CAN pay such prices for shoes!

Most I've spent was about €90, I have some that were worth more but got them on sale. I have a pair of good boots that I got in 2014, they were €120 but I got them half price, I'll probably take them to get resoled, I wore them so much that the soles are smooth but the structure of the shoes themselves is still perfect. Quality definitely matters, I'd always recommend the best quality you can get out of your personal budget. Nothing wrong with getting them for yourself as a treat though, it's not that much more expensive than a gaming console with a few games and accessories.

If they're just everyday wear I wouldn't spend over 100ish on trainers.

There’s treating yourself and then there’s just being stupid

You pay that much for a pair of shoes and then you’ll never wear them cause you’re terrified of marking or scuffing them

I’ve got some Valentino trainers that were like £420 when I bought them. I do want some Balenciaga Tracks thiugh which are £695. I personally think shoes are worth paying for when they’re designer cos they’re usually really high quality and you get plenty wear from them.

The most I’ve spent on a pair of trainers is £155 but I’d be prepared to pay more depending on how badly I’d want them. I love trainers and I always do my best to keep them clean and well maintained because of how expensive they can be. I even keep them in the boxes still and some of mine have lasted 5+ years and still look brand new :D

I think that paying in the £500+ region is too much tho. One of my friends recently bought a pair of Louboutins that set him back £800 which I would never pay for a pair of trainers.

At the end of the day tho it’s your money and you spend it how you wish. You earned it and if you want to spend whatever amount on a pair of shoes then go ahead. The Balenciagas look great and if it makes you happy then I say go for it :)

If you can use Clearpay or Klarna, that could be quite handy as well. There’s a few trackies I’m gonna treat myself to and I find paying in 3 instalments quite helpful.

...they’re gorgeous trainers.....I was looking at some of the Balenciaga clothing range also and they’re pretty cool and classy...very Amy, I would say....you’re asking the question so it’s obviously not commonplace for you to generally pay that, Amy...but like so many of us, I imagine that your clothing/shoe spending this year has been quite low as our social lives have been restricted...so lots of money saved and such a time that you’re able to have a treat of something expensive that you maybe couldn’t always have done..so, I think Paris would approve and say yes, do it...

...happy something special buying day...:flutter:..
