Just remembered another...

When I was a kid in the mid/late 90’s we used to go every Wednesday evening (I think) to my Great Aunt’s house who lives only like 20 minutes away but in a sort of very rural area, so the drive to and from there was all countryside mostly.

Anyway we’d leave the same time every time, probably about half 7, and in the winter it would be dark then coming home. My Dad would always have the same radio station on and EVERY TIME we got to this stretch of road that was winding and pitch black and just basically the middle of a huge forest the station would do this segment where the music they would use for it was the theme tune from The X Files.

Honestly, I’d be so terrified I’d close my eyes or put my head in my hands until that part was over or until we were back in some sort of civilisation. I’d dread leaving every single week. :joker:

Used to watch this every week - remember some of the stories vividly.

Like a man who got basically ran over by his own switched on lawnmower and another man who had forgot he had a can of petrol in his car and lit up (literally) for a smoke...

Traumatic! :omgno:

Imagine having a Mr blobby room when you are 4 years old. Yeah that scarred me a tad.

My doting mother with a good career up until I was age 9 rapidly descending into alcoholism, apathy and unemployment by the time I was age 15.

Also one time when I was out for dinner eating a burger I for no fathomable reason imagined in my head that it was chomping on a giant tarantula and I just spat it out onto the table and started crying... then when my bewildered family asked what happened I was like "I imagined it was a spider :bawling: " and I couldn't eat burgers for like 6 months because it made me feel immediately sick.

I used to think a fox would come up the toilet and bite my bum when I was pooping.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks of things coming up the toilet. Quite often I'm scared there will be rats snakes or spiders if I look down

There was a creepy old woman in a wheelchair that used to live round the corner from me when I was little. I used to have nightmares about her.

Me and the family used to sit around and watch a show called ‘Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction’ that would show 4 stories and you had to guess which ones were true or fake. It was fun to watch but I remember a story on there about a red eyed monster that was haunting this family in their home and it scared the crap outta me for years.

Similar....I was chased down a back alley by an Alsatian when I was skiving off school.

I went the loo in the night last night and there was a big spider crawling round the seat. Shudder. I squished it with toilet paper and flushed it. X

My mother launching a whole pan of boiling potatoes at me , smashing the the glass door ! i was only trying to help by saying keeping the mash on the hob whilst mashing would mean we didn't have stone cold mash on our plates . There was no dinner that night.

No bloody idea why but this film made me the most scared I ever remember feeling in my life. Watched it at a sleepover when I was 9/10 ish and none of the girls slept for the whole night as it affected us all quite badly :blush2:

This bit reminded me of..

I was on holiday at thorpe park with my family. I must have been about 13 or so. My sister bought some fake maggots from the joke shop. We went out for food that night and I went to the loo halfway through my meal. When I got back I went to pick up a chip and my dad was all like 'omg whats that..

They had put one of these fake maggot things inside my food :bored: I was so so angry and upset when they fell about laughing as it seemed so realistic.

I deserved it though really..was going through a 'pranking' phase, which ended that nigh :D
