I'd love Andy to take over from Keir Starmer who is about as useful as a chocolate teapot tbqh.
Labour might then actually stand a chance of regaining some popularity.

Andy Burnham has not dismissed suggestions he could mount a bid for the Labour leadership in the future, telling Sky News the party should "get in touch" if it were "ever to feel it needed me".
He was speaking after winning re-election as Greater Manchester mayor, taking 69% of the vote with turnout just under 33%.
he has already stood twice for the leadership in recent times and lost twice, so the omens don't look particularly promising.
Personally, i think leadership is most successful when the leader is almost unknown and people have no history to bash them with. Boris being the obvious exception to the rule

Hmm. Well I think we need him. Third time lucky?

I voted for him when he stood.
I would again.
This is a man I really admire as a politician.
I have massive respect for him and he is direct and tells it as it is too.
A decent guy and dedicated politician.

Not a massive fan of Burnham personally. He is a nedia hungry politician. When I lived in Leigh, he was my local politician and I know a number of people who contacted him and he was of no use. I didn't like the way he took on the Gov during the pandemic, he basically made them punish us when the new tiers came out even though we had lower numbers at the time than other areas.

I agree - wouldn't be my choice but I realise as a leftie, I don't have any voice in labour.
AB shows that standing up for your people against the party stealing food from the mouths of poor children, will actually take you somewhere.

I'm mixed on this. On one hand, she ran away from her left principles as soon as she got a seat at the top table, but on the other hand, kicking out the single parent, working class mum while Starmer has only been a spectator not an opponent, is terrible optics, and not what labour should be doing in my opinion.

At this point, anyone is better than Starmer but ultimately I think this country is too far gone. We've settled for being slaves of the Tories and we'll never free ourselves of their chains because we choose to wear them.

Absolutely.
He’s exactly what I would class as a “Labour leader” - grass roots, “for the people”, NON LONDON working class.

Yeah. Bloke is brilliant. Think he's happy as mayor though.

Nothing wrong with men showing emotion.
What a ridiculous comment.

I legit don't care anymore , it's too late for Labour sadly , Starmer was an idiot that made things worse :bored: . Get used to a permanent Tory leadership guys.
Labour has become pointless like the lib Dems and it's painful to see.

He needs to get his facts right.....especially when it concerns Manchester.
Yes, I doubt it’ll happen anytime soon since he was just elected mayor again. He’s the perfect person for the job tbh. Out of London, has shown he’s strong about his views, seems quite down to earth (and kinda hot)
