[Mere is a budget supermarket chain claiming
to be 30 percent cheaper than the UK’s most
affordable food retailers, namely Lidl and Aldi.
Aldi has just been titled the UK’s cheapest
supermarket by consumer advice group Which?,
but Mere may take the crown later this year.
The company is opening its first British
store at a former Nisa branch in Preston, Lancashire.
There are plans for four other stores, located in Wales and Yorkshire.]
