Honestly don't understand the rush, maybe some of these are going home for a visit but even so, also some school age kids in there, haven't they missed enough school

Update

The photo has been taken incoming though I think, at the UK border?

That has been the case for the last year in Spain as well, you wear a mask at all times apart from swimming or when sitting on a towel

i would love to go abroad, but I wont go until the destination has been pretty much fully vaccinated and I can go maskless in most public spaces. I wouldnt mind if they continued the mask requirement at airports/on planes indefinitely. I think thats just smart at all times

I’d personally wait until at least July, feel like most of the vulnerable will be vaccinated across Europe, and things should be under better control here with probably all 30+ being vaccinated and all 50+ having their second doses. Don’t think people should be willing to give up another summer though because some vulnerable choose not to get vaccinated and then end up dying..

The amount of vaccinated people dying is still way less than those dying of cancer, heart disease, and a lot of illnesses actually, and so it is just something we will have to live with and it’s another form of illness that will kill people.

I definitely wouldn't be travelling for a holiday, Luke may be travelling to Bulgaria for the world championships in MMA though in August, you're allowed if you're competing, shame we won't be able to go and watch though [emoji26]

It's just daft for a whole host of reasons. The obvious transmission risk is one... the other is that we should be holidaying/daytripping locally to support local economies. You don't even necessarily have to stay away from home to have a "holiday", take a couple of weeks off and plan a tonne of activities within driving range. We do a big "day-trip" every Saturday and have been known to drive 3+ hours each way... but we've discovered some amazing places .

I'm going on a short business trip to Sweden next week and I can already tell that this amount of people is going to piss me right off
A colleague of mine went there last week and told me the airports were fully packed :skull:

PS: yeah I already blamed my management for a trip that can be done virtually but you know...

nope, never going abroad anymore

still in doubt if we're even going on holiday in own country this year again

it depends on wether we can be vaccinated or not

my parents have refused the AstraZeneca, they only would want pfizer

and i myself am still unsure about all vaccines, since i see there is more risk of side effects with younger people from the vaccine

That will result in some unfortunate tan lines.

You'd have to whizz back to your apartment balcony and wear your mask over your eyes and forehead to even it out.

Its not really a Holiday is it? Who wants to wear a mask on the Beach. Some sort of normality isnt that far away....I would rather wait and enjoy it without the restrictions.

it cant get packed because wont allow you on the beach if it is too busy and you have to sit two meters away from the nearest person

Crackers the lot of them. We're just about getting ourselves sorted and people are eager to go elsewhere. We all want a holiday but what's an extra 2 months when we've already had a year and it puts getting our country operating nornally at risk?

Thanks mate, I'm going there to yell at some people but hopefully I will have a nice time in Stockholm afterwork. And it's such a nice city with people actually being very vigilant due to Covid etc Not like France :joker:
It's mostly the flights that I'm a bit wary of because I'm not vaccinated yet.

That’s my thoughts on it, too.

This is my feelings towards it too

Same. It wouldn't really feel like a holiday. Seems like a waste of time atm, and money.

To be honest, I'd rather wait a bit longer, if you go now, the country you are in could easily be locked down, then you'd be stuck abroad and it just all sounds so stressful. Going somewhere in the UK however, you can relax more.

the numbers going abroad will drop like a stone after a couple of weeks, there are always some that just cant wait.

I was reading earlier that people are not returning to the high street in significant numbers yet, so if they are not doing that, they won't be taking trips abroad for sure

Agree with this. Plus we have some gorgeous places to visit and stay in our own country.

Id rather wait until Italy has finished their vaccination programme.
They're doing well and things are improving.

Photos of queues at airports always give a bit of a distorted picture tbh. There's very few people actually going on holiday and long queues will probably be more to do with the admin around testing and distancing etc plus there's probably a lot of airport staff still on furlough

I don't really begrudge anyone for going now though, easy to say to wait but for all we know it might not be possible in a couple of months and the lists might change, or people might have had it booked for a long time, or they want to avoid what might really be a rush on holidays in July driving up prices (especially on school hols) and causing everywhere to be fully booked or packed out. It's probably pretty blissful in Portugal right now with quiet beaches and no problem getting a table at any of the restaurants or bars

Well tbh even other places like just going out for drinks and the cinema, still hasn't made me rush out as there's still caution and masks . I still want things to calm down more, but that's me.

Sensible like a lot of people tbh. There's always that minority though. They'll be the ones kicking off first about potential future lockdowns too.

The EU are set to relax rules and will allow Brits who are fully vaccinated to travel without testing ..:umm2: is this wise given the rise of the Indian variant :umm2:

Nope won't be going on any holiday this year. Wouldnt be going abroad anyway and haven't for 8 years due to the cost. I'd happily go on a UK break this year but the greedy people have put up the prices way to high so that won't be happening either
