…it’s crazy and so sad…the vid in this short clip below showing the people of Israel and Palestine celebrating in the streets at the ceasefire…while in New York, purposefully escalating violence…?…there just is no sense in that …

https://abcnews.go.com/US/jewish-man-beaten-york-city-amid-dueling-protests/story?id=77823651

…I’m glad the guy seems okay but it’s something that shouldn’t be happening….

Yes it is Hard
But President Biden has spoken on these attacks
nothing wrong in increasing the Fine
and making a Prison Sentences very long.

When I hear about disgusting barbaric things like this, It makes it even more baffling that people would be against teaching kids history in schools and educating them.

Google "attacks on Jews". It's frightening. This sadly is what happens, Jews all over the world pay for what happens in Israel. There have been all kinds of attacks against Jews, for instance, anti-Semitic attacks in London are up 500%. Sadly, a large percentage of the Left show their support for Palestine by attacking Jews and justifying the attacks by citing Israel. If a Muslim supported, for instance, Saudi Arabia, a country with one of the worst Human Rights records in the world, and was attacked in the street for it, people would be quite rightly outraged.

We don't even know that the victim actually supports Israel, he was simply attacked for being Jewish. The assailant, meanwhile, makes it clear he supports a country which is ruled by a militant terror group...

Kind of like how the right weaponises anti-semitism to lash out at people they dislike despite the fact that right wing philosophies have a history of being hand in hand with anti-jewish attitudes, anti-semite ***** will use the suffering of the palestinian people to try to justify their own hate.

I feel sorry for the victim, he did nothing wrong but be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and I hope the bigots that committed this hate crime get the full extent of the law brought down upon them. May anyone who commits such hate crimes face the same harshness.

Standing up for the people of Palestine is not the same as hating jews, I hate the Israeli government and military's wanton war crimes and abuses of human rights, as do a good section of the Israeli populace, judging by how frequently their elections end up in hung governments but that doesn't mean we should paint a religion as the problem, because the problem with the Palestine-Israel conflict is one of politics and abuse of power, not about jewish or islamic people.

Here is a letter to The Guardian a wee while ago:

“Antisemitism is on the rise but above all it is an Islamic issue. While it is politically correct to be concerned about caricatures of Muhammad, the fact that the Qur’an calls Jews cursed, traitors, the greediest of

men, liars, corrupters and apes (to name but a few of the more nasty epithets) is never mentioned. It is not just the Israel-Palestine issue that can turn Muslims to Antisemitism. It comes straight out of the book

held to be the direct word of God – even if it also contains calls to peace.”

Sickening violence is never the answer, and fighting racism with racism will never work.

RE and history are two separate subjects. The only time religion was ever touched upon in my own experience in history was if we were doing the greeks or other ancient civilisations and we were going into their gods and mythology.

Historical Jesus is the reconstruction of the life and teachings of Jesus by critical
historical methods, in contrast to Christological definitions (the Christ of
Christianity) and other Christian accounts of Jesus (the Christ of faith). It also considers the historical and cultural contexts in which Jesus lived.

Re wasnt a thing when I was at school.

RE was apparently introduced as a compulsory subject with an education bill in 1944. If you attended and finished school before then, you might not have done RE, but you would have if you attended after that.
