Rumours:
-Completely new house (it was about time)
-All newbies
-Public vote to evict. They keep HOH and nominations/veto, but the public decides who goes. (not very reliable as it's a big format change but it's going around a lot)

New house and newbies sounds good, public voting to evict sounds horrible.
And idiotic.

It's closer to the BB spirit and the format of season 1 but it's not well received in the fandom apparently. Maybe CBS leaked it to test the waters and it's not going well. But some say some format change is to be expected. tbh Canada has been doing better these last years so Grodner needs to step it up at some point. It's just that fan voting for BB US is so weird to think about.

BBUS1 tried it on Season 1 and it failed miserably and almost canceled the show. They don't even want to remember it and hardly ever even mention it as it was that bad of a season. To change it back to public deciding after 21 seasons seems absolute madness and doomed to fail.
The fans, the super fans, the casuals etc. would all probably hate it and it would very likely fail miserably.

The production team! would need to change up tbh.

Maybe they are planning a 2nd season of BB OTT instead?
Captain.Remy

Yeah I'm not even sure why it didn't work while it worked very well in other countries.
BB OTT was a good alternative to that.
But anyway, at least the casting team has been changed but production team needs a good shake up too.

I think it's because Survivor 1 doing so well (and Richard for winning) with the cutthroat and competition element and tbh most of US game shows with prize money in the last 50+ years of so being about self interest and beating your opponents (ie: one willing to do anything to win).

Tbh, had Will not won BB2 the way he did and for example Hardy won instead, BBUS would very likely not have lasted this long.

I wouldn't mind there being a public vote to add in a third HG at the noms or something, but I don't like the idea of the public being able to vote someone out. To me the whole premise is being able to be a dirty/lying player but convince others otherwise (or to be so nice/wholesome people love you, although that's a lot more boring). Not quite the same when the public knows your plans. Just my opinion though
I would love to see some kind of shake up to stop people just voting unanimously, at least for say the first 5 votes

Basically this. Much like how British reality TV formed as a reaction to the Nasty Nick incident, American reality TV formed as a reaction to Richard winning Survivor.

The lack or originality again

Wondering how they picked the teams. And I suppose the twist is made to avoid steamrolling? Though the «*bros*» will always choose the bros and the hot girls at some point

Cast has been released and I'm enjoying this excerpt from Christians bio a bit too much:
What is your favorite past moment on Big Brother?
Jeff using his Coup d’etat power to backdoor Jessica.

Let's gooooooooooo I'm so ready for a new season of BBUS, especially because I watched BBCAN in major catch-up mode (it was good tho, maybe even really good). Let's follow up a F3 as legendary as Cody-Enzo-Nicole :clap1:
I noticed the cast was revealed earlier today. Had a look, seems like it's only pics and bios out right now? I've seen a little clip of Travis being a total frat type and that guy might be fuuuuuunny af :joker: I'm pumped
Up on that first post... please tell me public voting isn't actually a possibility :joker: Keep that to the UK version
Ashley.

One of the cast got tested positive for covid the day of the launch and got replaced with this woman. She looks like she’s gonna be trash - in her bio she said she’s targeting all the men and her favourite BB players are solely female duos (which basically dont exist) :skull:

I hope Claire gets her way so we avoid the same pattern over and over again and have something very exciting to watch. But I'm not having my hopes up. I can feel the steamrolling coming.

How does that make her trash?
Because she's blatantly and openly sexist?
How do you think people would react if a man said they wanted to target all the women first?
Much worse would be said about them by almost everyone lmao

1. The tweet you posted was from a troll account called 'Incorrect BB Updates'...
2. All she actually said was that she wants a successful all-female alliance to make it to the end because it has never happened before, which I think is fair enough.
Ashley.

Besides, men always perform well in this show. Of course it would be smart to get them out.

She followed Cody and wasn't part of any clear strategic move, even less an all-female alliance that worked. My mind is already made up clearly.

I can’t stand Nicole but you can’t say she wasn’t part of any strategic moves, she literally voted out her best friend (Ian) and pinned the vote on David to ensure he’d be gone the next week (as Dumbvonne bought it all). She was the pivotal vote, and this move ensured Davonnes, Kevin’s and David’s exit in swift succession getting her alliance from a position of even sides to all 6 making the final 7. She played Da’Vonne all season
I don’t like her gameplay but it works every time, she’s good at getting the house against someone (Janelle, Kaysar, Nicole A, Bayleigh). She also started planting seeds about Dani and Tyler by half way through the game to ensure they’d be targeted before her.
Like I said I don’t like her at all but she is good at big brother
Captain.Remy
09-07-2021, 03:31 PM
She was just a Cody follower. Ian and David were both goners anyway and Da'Vonne brought it on herself. Nicole has never been a deciding factor in all of these evictions. Cody told everybody what to do and they did it, herself included. The rest is pointless because it's not game changing.
Anyway, so far this season looks alright but it's way too early to tell. I just don't want any steamrolling again, please! Just pure strategic cut throat game from week 1 and not some "It's too early" or whatever makes it boring. Hopefully the teams twist might avoid that.

The feeds have been pretty chaotic so far, especially Frenchie and his HoH
He’s gone from telling all the woman in the house he would never target a woman in the first week to…. now seemingly targeting a woman in the first week

The fact that he nominated two minorities isn't an issue for me - white males account for 25% of the house and two were ineligible - but it's the fact that he a) used appearing as some sort of ally to his advantage in the game which doesn't sit well with me at all, and b) negated putting Travis up even though it was clearly his best move.

I’m so bored of people saying “POC” or minorities. Legit half the house is a minority each year, odds on there will be one nominated…. If people said I’m not nominating a minority no matter what( like Davonne on her vote) then that’d be ridiculous
