THE housemates have released a song on the internet — and it could end up topping the charts.
They were given half an hour to write and perform a track as part of an early morning task to earn themselves a decent breakfast.
But Channel 4 bosses were so pleased with their efforts they are making it available via the podcast. If enough fans download the song it could become the world’s first Big Brother Top 40 hit.
Ziggy is the mastermind. The failed pop star, who used to be in boy band Northern Line, had already been working on a track. The lyrics were also based on the twins’ “introduction song”, which they have been singing endlessly.
The housemates did earn a food prize for their efforts — but the bigger prize will be getting into the Top 40.
They were told yesterday: “You have 30 minutes to write a song. All housemates must have a singing part in the song. Housemates should give their vocal group a name and give their song a name. If music be the food of love, play on, housemates.”
Each wannabe had their own solo to perform during the task, which will be seen on the highlights show tonight.

The song will be made available today at around 5pm on the Big Brother weekly podcast.
And that is eligible for the charts — meaning the song could become a Top 40 hit.
A Big Brother spokeswoman said last night: “Every week the housemates record a podcast which is available for download on BB Radio.
“This week the song will be part of the podcast — and because that’s eligible for the charts, we’re hoping to have a hit on our hands.
“It’s not the most polished song in the world but it’s great fun and we think fans will love it.
“Ziggy might have a second stab at chart success, while it’s Chanelle’s dream to have a hit record.
“It would be a world first — none of the Big Brothers across the world have ever had a chart hit while they’ve been in the house.”
Later the housemates were told they had passed the task — and won a luxury brunch. They got juice, tea, milk, bread, cereal — and ONE SAUSAGE between the 12 meat eaters.
Liam said: “One sausage? What’s that all about?”
Brian added: “I’m not fighting over a sausage.”
Laura chopped it into 12 pieces for housemates, apart from veggie Carole.
