Back in 2008
He Flashed some actors and staff
Marsh.

This is ridiculous. He was called out for the flashing on Doctor Who/Torchwood sets back in 2008 and apologised at the time.
Just deflecting from abusers like Noel Clarke.

It's not really deflecting, Sky & ITV already have distanced themselves from Noel and isn't it an ongoing investigation with the allegations? .
You've got to realise aswell Marsh when is a joke not a joke? , back in 2008 Barrowman probably thought it was funny but what if people felt uncomfortable at the time ?
But as i've always said , there isn't always consistency with these things, if people want to look through inappropriate behaviour and flashing etc we'll probably be here forever. Bigbrother alone has tons of this type of behaviour.

The key often is persistence; if someone does something thinking it's funny and others say "Stop that, it's making people uncomfortable" and the person says "I'm really sorry, I didn't realise" and never does it again then that should (often) be given a pass, though obviously there's a stronger line where it's not that simple. However if someone is told that something is inappropriate and defends it/continues doing it it becomes a much bigger problem.
It SOUNDS like he apologised and didn't do it again 12+ years ago in which case dragging it up now is a bit sus. Though I don't know the full story so that's just based on what I've gathered here.
Marsh.

No, I don't need to realise that. I'm saying he was called out on his behaviour IN 2008 and apologised. So why is he being raked over the coals for something he did that was already public knowledge and addressed 13 years ago?
AFAIK the claims made against Barrowman are the exact same ones from back then, not additional incidents since. So, it being brought up as though it's brand new information now IS a deflection technique.

I don't know the full story either ,but this isn't the first time old stuff gets dragged up from the past .
Since the #metoo movement , wasn't there actors apologising for old comments they'd said in the past which seemed offensive? .

It's probably also been brought up again due to Noel joking about Barrowman on stage , wasn't he re enacting it and laughing or something? (Noel that is not Barrowman). Wasn't there old clips that resurfaced or something.

Disgusting
ive never been a group and thought, you know what would be really funny right now? i will get my knob out. People just dont do that, they know its inappropriate
…so in 2008 he was exposed as having at times exposed himself on set etc and exposing himself during interviews…and in a BBC interview referring to those times in interviews , he was encouraged to expose himself again during that interview by the hosts…so he did, while it was all being joked about and laughed at …?…and now over a decade later he’s losing work for these incidents…?…work that he surely should never have been given if this is how he behaved…?…
i think the uncomfortable reality is that the BBC is probably riddled with this sort of stuff. As an organisation the BBC has a lot to answer for in the way it let people behave while being funded by the public.

…so openly though while on air, it was encouraged…?…that’s not a ‘behind the scenes’ thing that we the public didn’t know about while contributing the funding…that’s when their voices should have been heard and this shouldn’t still be something that is ongoing…?…it can’t surely all be blamed on the BBC if he was encouraged on air during the interview and it was laughed at while he complied.. ….this whole thing is so confusing…
i'm just thinking what reaction i would have had if i had done similar while i was working in the city .... just about anything went on in that environment, but there were lines that were never crossed ... and behaving like Barrowman did is one of them

[Dancing on Ice judge John Barrowman has received backlash
after he admitted flashing colleagues on the set of two shows.
The 54-year-old is well-known for his flamboyance
and humour, but has apologised for “tomfoolery,”
after it emerged he had revealed himself to
crew on Doctor Who and Torchwood.]

Now the Lady in Charge of ITV
will have to speak about him.
…that doesn’t make it any less confusing, Arista…this was all exposed in 2008 when it was compounded on in the interview and it was all found to be amusing and encouraged again…the two presenters were described as ‘goading him’ and because it was on the radio so not a visual thing for listeners, it was described as a fuss over nothing…and those paying listeners were fine with it all…?…now 13yrs later there’s backlash…why was it okay then because it never was…this wasn’t something that was pushed out of public attention and knowledge, this was live on air…

It's a bit ridiculous that some flamboyant thespian flashing his doodah wasn't an issue until the Noel Clarke allegations. How messed up does someone have to be to listen to 20+ women accusing Clarke of actual sexual misconduct, and immediately think "but what about the time Barrowman whipped it out over a decade ago?!"

Not sure that is what happened, we don’t know what Clarke has been actually accused of as ‘sexual misconduct’ is a very vague term, so maybe parallels are being drawn ,and given they worked together maybe they egged each other on...just because he is flamboyant doesn’t give him the right to shove his knob at people and he was old enough to know better, I like JB btw so its very sad if this is career ending for him

I didn't realise he was encouraged and goaded into exposing himself, still doesn't make it alright though . And everyone involved who found it funny again sending out confusing messages.
Do people remember when Danny Dyer exposed himself to Holly Willoughby on celebrity Juice, and she encouraged it . It seems celebrity Juice & Keith Lemon get away with everything , as the show has no boundaries :bored: .
Keith himself has crossed the line a few times , but because he hides behind his character he gets away with it.

The only time it gets complicated is when it comes to consent - if he only showed Holly his junk and she encouraged him to beforehand for whatever reason, that’s not actually an issue... consenting adults can look at each other’s bits n pieces. It becomes a problem if “bystanders” (other people on the show, crew members, etc.) are also in line of sight and they have NOT encouraged it or consented to it.
Chris Pratt tells a tale of how he was supposed to “fake” expose himself in an episode of Parks and Rec but at the last minute ditched the “cover” to get the other cast members real reaction, because they were close and he knew it wasn’t an issue. But he got into some major **** with production because obviously, it’s not just the cast, there were crew and camera people etc. around too.

I know what you're saying ,but it is still inappropriate behaviour with or without 'consent' . What if Dyer still got backlash.
And Keith Lemon has made alot of guests on his show feel uncomfortable, and I know people will say celebrity Juice is known for its smutty humour, but he has crossed the line loads of times for a cringy cheap laugh.

The claims against Clarke were explained in the Guardian article where several women outlined exactly what he had done. A lot more than childish knob flashing.

And he's under investigation isn't he ?, nobody is forgetting the claims made against Noel.
Like I said I think Barrowman's incident has been dug up due to Noel thinking it's funny and re enacting it . And probably because they worked together.

I never said anyone has forgotten it. I responded to Cherie, who didn't know the details of the Clarke accusations, to just say he's been accused of far more than getting his knob out for a laugh.

Whilst I don't necessarily agree with John Barrowman's behaviour, he didn't actually sexually assault anyone.
If anything it's probably similar to how Mario from BB11 behaved, and I don't think that his (Mario's) life should be ruined either.
