Big Brother has allowed the housemates to take a book in with them this year. Which one would you take in?

I would take The Stone Monkey by Jeffery Deaver.

At the risk of appearing Tickle-ish, I might have to take the Complete Works of William Shakespeare to pass the time.

Otherwise I would take Gone with the Wind as it's a classic that I would never tire of reading.

Hmm, would definetly have to be The Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe, for me... I like his stuff, just have to remember to not act out half of them... but the temptation of getting a pendulum and placing Federico under it...

I would also take in Complete Shakespeare.

Another book I might take in if not that (this may surprise you) is the authorised Bible. I am an agnostic, but it does make a good read, and I love the language.

Theres a rumour going round in my school (sorry this is a bit random lol) that this first year girl (age 12 abouts) is going to play Hermione in the 4th harry potter film! Personally I don't believe it but my school is quite prestigious (top of the A level table at the moment :thumbs:)so it is possible. She confirmed it herself but the reasons I don't believe it is because 1) shes 12 and in the fourth book Hermione is like 15/16! 2) Why would the current Hermione suddenly quit? very strange
What do YOU think?

That is such a tough question. Books are my absolute PASSION.

I think I'd have to put the following in a row and do "eeeny, meeny"!!!!!

"One Summer at Deer's Leap" (author's name escapes me for the minute)
"An American in the Gulag" - Alexander Dolgun
"The Diary of Anne Frank"
"The Lord of the Rings"

Much too difficult to choose.

Probably the Lord of the Rings since it is a book that is long, yet not boring

sweetlittlesara The complete guide to middle earth is longer but you wouldn't need it with Jon.

That's a very hard question because I read very quickly and a normal book wouldn't last very long!

I think I would have to plump for the Guiness Book Of Records, simply because it would take forever to read and might give me and the other housemates a laugh in trying to beat some records.

I'd take a book entitled Wild Swans (cant remember the author she's chinese).

Its very thick and about a chinese family from 1900 til about 2000 - a real eye opener. A truly cant put down book.

God i'm sooooooooooo shallow the only book that i've read and really enjoyed was Learning to Fly- Victoria Beckham. I read it really quickly. Couldn't put it down!!

I think I would have to take advice from friends as to what book to read.
