Same here. The only reason I’m still up is because I’ve just returned home after a night shift. I don’t do day shifts anymore unless it’s absolutely unavoidable but a lot of people find that weird.

Do you feel like death warmed up every Monday morning?

Either, as long as I get a half decent sleep.
Not one to get up miserable, whatever time it is.

More of an early bird these days. Rarely sleep past 6.30am no matter what time I go to bed.

Wake up fine though even after a couple of hours sleep (but pay for it later in the day)

I'm not even that much of a night Owl anymore either, I just love my bed  Although I'd quite easily stay up all night to watch MMA or Boxing events when they're on in America and usually at the weekends when I don't have work the next day I'll stay up pretty late

Yes (and most other mornings too)

Yes (and most other mornings to)

I feel you. I used to be that way until I switched to night shifts. But even then I still have to do things on my off-days (some of them quite early) so I still have to reckon with early starts once or twice a week.

Yeah, I don't know about night shifts because of things that you have to do and obviously other people that you might want to see will be on days, I think it would mess up my clock altogether

Night owl but also not an introvert/creative person so didn’t vote

Some of those extra descriptions I give are just there to serve as examples. Not all night owls are introverts but it seems like they’re more likely to be that-way inclined (while the converse tends to be true for extroverts).

I am both

Due to shifts

Being a night owl I used to work mainly Late shifts...but I did work Early shifts from time to time and getting up at 3am was a killer for me. Usually when my head hits the pillow I am off like a light but when I knew I had to be up at 3am I just struggled to get to sleep and all I could think about was how many hours of sleep I had left. Then if I woke up before the alarm went off I didnt dare look at the time in case I only had 10mins left..then I would be grumpy but then if I knew I had another hour or so I could put my head back on the pillow with a smile on my face...I struggled with that decision on many occassions
I am not an early person at all...

Early morning gang where you at?
Always loved doing things early, studying, working, working out etc I like that time when nobody is awake or just waking up and you have the full day ahead and get things done already.

…here and representing……With a 4am wake up, I guess technically it’s a bit of both being a night owl and an early bird, hmmmmm….hungry for as many wake hours as possible…

Do any of you night owls wish you had what people who go for jogs at 5am have or are you content as you are?

Sometimes yeah, whenever I do get up early to do something I always feel glad I made the most of the day (when I eventually wake up fully :p )

I used to feel that way but over the years I’ve become so nocturnal that anything else seems weird. And apart from that night owls tend to be more interesting people (IMO). I wouldn’t want to lose that connection with like-minded people just for the sake of fitting into a mega-capitalistic grind-and-hustle culture that requires waking up at silly-o’-clock in the morning. Morning larks really don’t know what they’re missing.

Glad you're part of our team
Technically I was both depending on the population I was working with. I used to work with Oceania for a long time on daily basis so it was fitting perfectly for me because I could wake up very early to have them on the phone for instance.
I have worked with US West Coast also so it made me finish later but still keeping that early bird life. Thankfully I work with British people now who are Tea birds

I love early mornings now - the house is silent and its the time I get properly to myself before I have to start the day - weekdays are busy from 7.15 onwards but weekends I usually get my "quiet time" until 9ish. Perfect
