A bit confusing as I'm sure the appalling situation with the abuse of indigenous children in Canada was in Catholic Chirch run institutions? Which would, traditionally, put it totally at odds with British monarchy. I suppose it's possible that people in Canada aren't as aware of the situation with British Monarchy/Protestantism/Catholicism though?

Yes but at that time it was British Rule
in charge.

I thought the US' treatment of the indigenous people were bad but reading up on what Canada's done is just horrific. I can't blame people for their outrage, it was the catholic church that ran those schools, but the British empire colonised the land, and allowed these instititutions and abuses to exist.

Yes it was the Way
things were in the World back then.

It wasn't only the Catholic Church. It was Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian and United churches that ran residential schools, all have been linked in the verbal and written history to abuse and atrocities done to children and families, and all were given their power to do so by colonialists who were given their power by the British Monarchy. Correct me if I'm wrong.
