What are your experiences with catfishes?

Have yall be catfished? Or ever catfished someone? :eyes:


Quite recently I’ve had quite a few message me and I’ve got a pretty good radar for that sort of stuff (usually helps when you reverse search their pictures too :hee:) so most of the time I play along with it, but I just don’t really get the point :think:

I just can't believe people are still getting catfished in 2021 :facepalm: , as you mentioned there's the reverse image trick which is what I've done alot to catch a fake. Some catfish photos even have other sites warning people to avoid this person.

The reverse image isn't always full proof,but there's other ways aswell . Get them to send you a new photo, with them holding a piece of paper with today's date and a unique symbol. Then there's facetime etc. And obviously Don't give out your personal information.

Umm... so... yes... ish. I was being "catfished" by a girl on a forum when I was 15, except that I knew she was catfishing, and I exploited the situation and get a free phone and regular phone top-ups (basically any time I said I couldn't text her because I had no credit) for over 6 months because her dad was rich :umm2:.

At one point I actually thought she might BE a middle-aged man but I didn't care because I was being kept in phone top-ups. It turned out she was indeed a 16 year old girl with a rich dad - just not the one she was claiming to be.

I mean was I being catfished, OR was I pioneering the OnlyFans concept? :think:

She was also meeting up with other guys on the same forum and dishing out handjobs hand over fist. Excuse the pun. I never went there of course because I am a nice boy.

Some of the guys were like 25 - 30. It was all pretty gross really. I found out the whole story via one of her real-life friends who I ended up being internet palz with for over 15 years :joker:.

The catfish used to try me all the time. They’d even steal my pics and use them. At first I was horrified but then I realised I am just that hot.

:worry: Awful isn’t it? When we ran a website, my wife had pictures of her (and our eldest as a baby) taken and used to make a cloned Facebook account spouting loads of racism/etc. and generally taking the piss. Facebook wouldn’t do anything about it. Through some detective work we figured out it was a bunch of teenagers from somewhere totally random like Ohio in the US, Facebook stalked a bit, figured out where one of them went to school and contacted the headteacher.

The account disappeared a few days later :joker:

I don't tend to use dating apps and such, I remember looking into Tinder and Grindr once out of intrigue and swiftly deleted both. Because of that, I don't really have any experience with catfishes.

They’re terrible sites, but somewhat addictive. Grindr is anyway. I go through phases depending on my mood.

Tinder is tedious. You match then tend to not talk. I’ve got fed up of swiping no.

Grindr I use for sex when I want it.

Yes & No.

When you've had sex that many times with people off Grindr, you tend to not care so much.

I've got one story which I just wouldn't say on here, a) because of the shame and B) people wouldn't take it the way it's meant, but it was disgusting.

I've met people in some weird and wonderful places.

This one guy had a snake. Oh god, I couldn't cope.

Another guy was the biggest creep ever and I couldn't get rid of him. Probably my fault as I'm too nice.

But talking of being catfished, just remembered. Thought I was meeting a guy and when I met him, he was a she. Was a prostitute. :joker:

Had some banging sex over the years though, excuse the pun.

Ohh and if you meet in a hotel, make sure you pay parking. One shag cost me £60 as I was caught by ANPR and didn't give reception my reg.

Not short of stories. Makes life interesting :joker:

And this is why cruising is so much better and friendlier. I’ve made amazing friends and connections while waiting in a parking lot at night :joker: I’ve moved a lot since but I keep contact with some of them.

Catfishing...yeah it happened to me 10 years ago but he was using my pictures and only the ones published on my rugby team’s website. Talk about a crappy one who could have at least stalked my Instagram or Facebook to get better pictures. I saw myself on another profile with a completely different name, hobbies etc :skull: But anyway, I asked the webmaster take it down.

I've met people in the woods and in car parks. My shock when some guy was watching us from my car window.

Problem with cruising is that a lot of people want to do that and it's a turn on. I don't personally want other people watchingme have sex, but each to their own
