Partly, also the fact we’ve been locked up like guinea pigs for a year obviously helped
Its a combination. Good ventilation, social distancing and masks. I think these are good practices to follow pandemic or not. I think masks are a very smart move on things like the tubes, trains, buses and planes

…yeah when we haven’t come into contact with, it’s more difficult to contract from distant ranges…

Relatives have had it one by one (who live together), one brought it home from the school she works at.
Friends of mine have had it who work in offices.
My best friend currently has it, as does her fella.
Facebook every day for the past few weeks different friends saying they have it.

Hand washing and sanitation.
People using proper disinfectants at tills between customers, at research on tables and chairs.
But mostly 50% of the population that didn't wash hands do now.

When has Boris ever been right
I’ve never had the Flu and never had a flu injection either ..
Now it appears we’re gonna ‘encouraged’ to get the flu vaccine when we get the third ‘booster’ jab in the Autumn

3 of the 4 of us here had a horrendous cold 3 or 4 weeks back. Either that or Delta Covid - but me and the wife are both double-vaxxed . It was, most likely, a non-covid bug.
Although to be frr, the eldest brought it home from school, where they're all maskless and snogging each other so masks are really sort of irrelevant in this scenario.

Latest seems to be that only over-50's will be getting boosters though.

I had a head cold a few weeks ago but nothing since before Christmas 2019.
Masks obviously do help and people are more sanitised now.
you dont have to have a flu vaccination, but if you are going for a covid booster, it makes sense to have it. Ive had flu a couple of times and it's grim, I don't want it again if i can help it. However, when they formulate it, it is based on what they think will be the dominant flu strain, you may catch another strain
Nothing in this life is certain, but I think it's always sensible to hedge your bets on what protects your health the most
Point of note: There is nothing to stop you catching covid and flu at the same time, and while a vaccine may protect you from the worst effects of covid, we have no idea what a covid/flu combination could do to you if you were to get it

What will be fascinating is in a few years down the line when we start seeing new mRNA vaccines for flu. There’s a good chance that they’ll be effective against multiple, perhaps most… perhaps all… dominant flu strains all at once. There is at least very good reason to believe that they’ll be significantly more effective than our current flu vaccines.
mRNA technology is in its infancy and may well end up being a game changer in terms of virology.

i think there has been a massive step change in vaccination. Now they have the tech, they should be able to bang out all sorts of different vaccines in next to no time. Obviously with covid, they have had plenty cases to test them on, but still, over the next 5 years, i think vaccines will be available for all sorts

I think it's good to wear them in closed spaces.
But outside there's no need.
Yes, I did notice I haven't had any cold and flu since wearing a mask. Which is great.

I would continue to wear them but the public need to see my beautiful face.

I have had loads of colds since we were 'released'. I put it down to my immune system being shot really, due to not much social contact for ages. During lockdown I was not ill at all but I think that we due to...being nowhere to catch anything rather than masks
