Sleuths at the Daily Telegraph have uncovered a series of deleted left-wing tweets from Jess Brammar, who is currently considered the front-runner to become the new head of the BBC’s news output.

In 2019 she responded to an article suggesting black people were “genuinely considering leaving the UK because of the level of racism, particularly if Boris Johnson wins” by saying: “It won’t be a surprise to people who live this reality every day, and in admitting my shock I show my ignorance as a white woman.”
