From one of the 5000 untested break-ins fans who watched with no ticket no doubt

Piers, 56, said he believes he caught the Delta Covid variant at the final
He has been wracked by fever, cold sweats, coughing, sneezing and aches
Piers said 'This is definitely the roughest I've felt from any illness in my adult life'

'My confidence that the event would be 'covid safe' had disintegrated,' he

recalls, noting the masses of ticketless yobs breaching security.

'As I'm sure everyone who gets it feels, it's a strange, disquieting moment to
know I have this killer virus inside me,' he writes in tomorrow's Mail on
Sunday.

Doubled-jabbed with the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine, the former Good
Morning Britain presenter spoke to a respiratory expert who told him that no
current vaccine protects fully against infection with some of the new variants
but, crucially, they do all provide strong protection against hospitalisation or
death.

Piers describes how his body was wracked by fever, cold sweats, coughing,
sneezing and 'strange aches' – and, at one point, 'alarming' chest pains.

'I'm still here – unlike so many millions around the world who've lost their
lives to Covid in this pandemic,' he writes.

'For that, I owe a heartfelt debt of thanks to the brilliant scientists up in
Oxford who created the Astra-Zeneca vaccine with such astonishing speed.'

For Piers's full, dramatic story don't miss tomorrow's Mail on Sunday…

which is like 6 days after he caught it, he could have had 5 days of grim for all we know.

Marr said he was rough for a few days too, but none needed hospital which is what it's all about

Piers loves restrictions but also loves enjoying all the benefits of their easing as soon as he possibly can. Difficult to sympathise when he lambasted the gov for not being stricter but then rushed abroad in the summer as soon as he could, went to all his favourite posh restaurants as soon as he could, went to the Caribbean at Christmas when most the country was in tier 3 or 4 and then went to several of the Wembley games with packed crowds

Technically staying within the law but makes his rants at 'covidiots' a bit less meaningful when the vast majority of the country can't enjoy the lifestyle that he does yet he would get on his high horse over stuff like attending an indoor gathering of more than 6 people

6-2... what a result.

I like how the Scots say 'jagged' instead of 'jabbed'.

jab and jag are both old scots words as it goes

they would say jab in Aberdeen but jag in the central lowlands

Well i hope you've been 'jagged'

sure have and will be taking a lateral prior and then registering it online to get my email confirmation to show when we arrive. The club has sent fans a comprehensive video to explain the protocol and how it all works when we arrive and what to do and expect - even to the point of when a fan wants past you in your seat stand up and face backwards as they pass. No food concessions are open and toilets have a steward control stop go system.
