So yesterday was a sad day
I’ve owned a leather belt for 28 years and wore it almost every day but yesterday the metal buckle broke

What was the last thing you had that broke?

My Xbox 360 which I rarely play on but have been using more recently.

I disk tray wouldn't opened so I googled it.... Ended up opening it up and giving it a fiddle.... It did the trick, must have been jammed.

I was quite impressed with myself. I thought it was heading for the junkyard.

Sorry about the belt. That would be so annoying.....you almost form an attachment.

i had a mug that middle girl gave me about 10 years ago that I used every morning with my Capuccino and about a month ago it chipped so i had to retire it to a cupboard. I now use a weather decor mug that Ex Mrs LT's parents gave me for Christmas in 2004 for that morning cuppa.

 we don't have much luck with glass tables, we had an outdoor one in Spain that exploded as well but at least we put that down to the heat, this exploded during a cold spell :fist:

Have you tried all the tricks to get them off? My mums wedding ring got stuck on my finger and I couldn't bear to have it cut off, I put my hand in a bowl of ice and managed to get it off eventually.....it was painful though....

Have you tried all the tricks to get them off? My mums wedding ring got stuck on my finger and I couldn't bear to have it cut off, I put my hand in a bowl of ice and managed to get it off eventually.....it was painful though....

The knuckle on my wedding band finger became swollen due to osteoarthritis.
I didn’t want to take the band off and it didn’t hurt, but it was obvious that it wouldn’t be easy to remove if I did want to take it off.
I went down the ice route, but that was so cold that it DID hurt, and it didn’t work either, maybe I was too much of a wimp with the icy cold pain!
I eventually went to a jeweller in Hatton Garden who specialised in ring repair, to explore having it cut off and repaired.
He rubbed some ‘magic’ cream on my finger, working it around for maybe 30 to 40 seconds, and gradually painlessly eased the band off.
He then checked the size of my finger with a selection of rings.
He told me to go get a coffee somewhere and return in an hour.
When I got back he slid the band back on and asked me to try to get it off and on again, this I could do, and it fit close enough for me to know that it wouldn’t slide off accidentally.
I said “Thanks a lot, how much is it and how did you do it?”
He said, “£30, and I heated it until it expanded to your finger size, then plunged it in cold water.”
