I wonder if he has some form of disability, I just can't understand what has gone on here, poor little man
…it doesn’t read as though the arrested are Logan’s parents/family….
"This is a tragic incident in which a young child has sadly lost their life," Ch Insp Geraint White had said.
"We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information, to get in touch.
"We would ask the public not to speculate about this incident on social media as this is an active investigation.
"If you have any information that can help, please report this to us.
"Our thoughts are with the family and we are supporting them in every way we can."
He added "regular contact" had been made with the boy's family, who were being supported by specialist trained officers.
"The local neighbourhood police team will continue to support and speak to residents in the area, and I encourage people to talk to them if they have any concerns.
"We recognise there are a lot of people in the local community who would like answers about what happened to him."

horrendous, I know we shouldn't speculate but maybe they were babysitting, with the 13 year old being involved and they tried to cover it up

…I don’t think so because one of the neighbours has said that they had heard his mother screaming that she’d found the back door open and he was gone…
…a photo of Logan…I don’t know how long before his death it was taken but it looks as though he may be wearing his own little Olympic medal…I’ll spoiler it for anyone who’d rather not see him…

…I found it, I couldn’t recall which article I’d seen it in…
Neighbours claim the boy’s mum was heard frantically screaming for her son shortly before he was found dead in the river.
She shouted, “the back door was open” at around 5.30 am on Saturday, waking up people living nearby, according to locals.
One neighbour said: “I could hear the mum screaming for her son. She was shouting ‘the back door was open’ and calling for him.

…Logan’s stepfather has been charged with his murder…his mother… (…and a 13yr old boy…)…have both been charged with perverting the course of justice…)…

…it’s just so hard for us to fathom of a mother…there is a possibility that extreme fear for the safety of the other child and herself could have also factored../..that their world was violence/control/fear…/…I’ll wait to see what unfolds in court…just so horrendous and tragic…

That’s the trouble with these kind of things - we hear some dreadful things when the story is unearthed .. then we have to go through it all again (with extra details ) when it goes to court ... then again when the sentencing is done .

Child murder in the UK is most often carried out by the parent or step-parent, according to the NSPCC. Having a child doesn't automatically grant you parental instincts, sadly.
What a horrific death.... defies belief that someone could use that kind of violence on a child.

stepfather accused of murdering a five-year-old boy threatened to kill him if the child’s mother ended their relationship, a court has heard.
John Cole, 40, is on trial with his partner Angharad Williamson, 30, and a 14-year-old boy who all deny murdering Logan Mwangi.
The child, also known as Logan Williamson, was found dead in the River Ogmore in Sarn, Bridgend, on 31 July last year with 56 external injuries.
Cole denied killing Logan or being violent and abusive to him and instead accused Williamson, his partner and the boy’s mother, of shaking him.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that in the week of Logan’s death, Cole and Williamson were shutting him in his bedroom away from the rest of the household as he had Covid-19.
Giving evidence, Cole told the jury Logan did not want to stay in his room and in the days before he died, he and Williamson had to repeatedly put him back there.
He also explained that if Logan was naughty, he would be punished by having to stand in the “naughty corner” in the hallway for five-minute intervals for throwing toys and jumping off the furniture.
Peter Rouch QC, defending Williamson, said Cole, who is 6ft 4in tall and weighs between 14 and 15 stone, allegedly “towered” over Logan in the hallway and said “The only thing he understands is pain” before hitting him twice in the stomach.
Cole denied he or the youth had hit Logan and instead claimed the couple rowed after Williamson had shaken the youngster and taken him back to his bedroom.
Mr Rouch said: “Did she say, ‘I’m sick of these rows and I’m going to leave you’ and you said, ‘If you do, I’ll kill him’, meaning Logan?”
The barrister said Williamson’s case was she went to bed on the night of Logan’s death until 5.30am after which time he was dead – meaning Cole or the youth were responsible.
Cole replied: “No. She ran out of the house when I told her to get her hands off Logan when she shook him.”
He told the jury he went to bed at about midnight and had left Logan alive with Williamson. But she was later woken by Williamson screaming hysterically and telling him she had heard Logan take his last breath.
Cole said he went into Logan's bedroom, found him dead and began CPR, saying his “head was cocked back, his eyes were open and his knees were up to his chest”.
Asked why he did not call for an ambulance or the police, Cole said he “panicked”.
“I just panicked,” he told the court. “I woke up to Logan being dead and it threw me. I wasn’t thinking properly.”
Caroline Rees QC, prosecuting, suggested Logan was treated like a “prisoner” as he was confined to his bedroom in the days leading up to his death and made to face the wall when food was delivered to him.
Asked how he thought that made the youngster feel, Cole replied: “We were trying our best we possibly could.”
Cole has admitting perverting the course of justice for dumping the boy's body, but denies murder.
He is on trial at Cardiff Crown Court alongside Williamson and a 14-year-old boy who cannot be named because of his age.
The trial continues.

In particular the parents in this situation should not be this depraved towards their own child.

he teenager who murdered five-year-old Logan Mwangi moved into the family home five days before the killing, in a decision likened by prosecutors to throwing a lit match into a powder keg, it emerged on Thursday.
Craig Mulligan, 14, was ordered on Thursday to be detained for a minimum of 15 years while his stepfather, John Cole, and stepmother, Angharad Williamson, were jailed for a minimum of 29 and 28 years, all for Logan’s murder.
After the three were sentenced at Cardiff crown court, the judge, Mrs Justice Jefford, ruled that it was in the public interest for Mulligan, who was 13 at the time of the murder, to be named.
Cole had brought up Mulligan as his own son since the boy was nine months old, but they were separated for six months before the murder of Logan and the teenager had been in local authority care.
Foster parents who looked after Mulligan claimed they had warned a social worker he had threatened to kill Logan, but allege their fears were brushed aside. A family court judge gave Cole parental responsibility for Mulligan on 26 July last year without knowing about the threats.
