Cherie is right....its an invasion of his privacy and a bit intimidating. He may look more relaxed about it..probably because they were young girls and not men...but the intimidation and invasion of privacy was the same. They should be dealt with the same way so people learn that they cannot do this sort of thing to well known figures.

Thats irrelevant....that doesnt give people the right to invade your privacy like that.

This is obviously different to the Chris Witty situation as MH is happy to engage with them and Witty wanted no part of those guys. However, it doesn't then give them the right to invade his space and steal his property, either.

He is being filmed, he didn’t have much choice but to engage, it was going up either way

You always have a choice whether to engage or not.

Strange but not surprising you totally ignored the last part of my point

Not always…as a public figure he can’t really just tell them to **** off especially as it’s all being filmed. Some people play along with it in order to pacify the situation and not create drama….that’s not to say he was happy about it

To me being treated as equal means just that, not exceptions being made because ‘it was just women’

He was posing with them on the platform, then talking with them on the train. He's not the Beatles in the 60's, it's pretty easy to have made his excuses and walked off, by saying he forgot to grab a sandwich or a paper or something, and moved to a different part of the platform.

Male/female doesn't have anything to do with it imo, If women had accosted Witty in the same way, then they would have been equally as wrong as the dudes that did it, but I don't believe this situation is the same - until the very end when they completely overstep the mark and act as equally familiar with MH as the dudes did with CW, so that's where they are liable and deserving of criticism.

The vibe will naturally be different with girls…and being a more relaxed individual than Chris Whitty it was an easier situation for him to deal with….but that doesn’t make it ok to intrude someone’s personal space and take their hat….
You are missing the point…

It has a lot to do with it to be honest. I don't think either group was behaving well but the implied threat with a group of blokes is completely different than a group of drunk girls. We do a disservice to everyone by ignoring that, and the "equality should mean this is equal too blah blah" argument is MRA-adjacent nonsense really. Being surrounded by a group of drunk blokes is physically intimidating in a way that being surrounded by a group of women is not. There's an inherent difference.

That doesn't mean groups of females can't be intimidating in other ways, or even that they can't be physically intimidating (e.g. there are plenty of female gangs in the big cities who will absolutely **** up your face) but that's clearly not what's going on here.

Again I'm not condoning the behaviour of either group, just pointing out that it's not intimidating in the same way as it would be if they were males. Pretending there "isn't a difference"... well it's just a lie isnit.

I largely agree with this as well I suppose; just because it isn't threatening doesn't mean it isn't harrassment. I don't think it's completely terrible that they approached him or chatted to him but there's a point where it becomes a bit much and they should probably have left him alone and gone off to chuckle about it amongst themselves.

It's not really the point in this thread though. If we're talking about the potential dangers of a group of drunk men vs a group of drunk women, then yeah, I'd absolutely agree but we're not. We're talking about 2 situations that we have video evidence for.

I'd also argue that in this specific situation, the dangers of a group of tory dudes saying "legend, we luv you and Boris", would also be inherently different to a group of LW dudes accusing him of murdering over 100k people, but again, it's not really the point.

there is nothing wrong with having a bit of banter, but invasion of personal space is a threatening actionLocking people in their homes, stopping people from earning a living, destroying peoples business's, setting the police on people for sitting in the park. Is that an invasion of personal space, or is it OK when the Government do it?
