This is tragic
happens with many young kids

Just sad that he got free
a few days ago.

[An Afghan boy, five, died in a fall
from a ninth-floor Sheffield hotel window
just days after fleeing the Taliban,
it has been reported.
South Yorkshire Police is appealing
for information following the
death on Wednesday.
In a statement, the force said: "It is reported
that a five-year-old boy fell from the
window of the Sheffield Metropolitan Hotel
at around 2.30pm.]

So awful. His family must have thought they'd escaped the worst and then this happens. Nightmarish and cruel.

I can’t even imagine. The poor family. Getting away from all of that and then something like this happening? Terrible

I'm not surprised she was asleep, she must have been exhausted.

What hotel was it?

Cause I've never managed to get an upstairs window open for a fag in London hotels.?

As tragic as this is, its merely sensationalism bu the media..


Kids have died in the UK everyday and never made the news.

So I'm starting to think about the hotels, and the homeless who will have been in those rooms at the start of lockdown...suddenly turned out, back to their normality.


Maybe needs a different thread, but unfortunately that's where my heads at.

Its the OYO Metropolitan Hotel
in Sheffield.
9 floors high.

SkyNewsHD had a reporter there
she found out, some windows were broken.
And also the Hotel has sent a Maintenance Staff round
to fit window locks that only allow the window to open a bit.
