Do you stick to a tight budget 24/7 or are you a more spontaneous spender?

I don’t account for every single penny but I err more on the side of (loose) budgeting. That’s mostly because I still get low-key flashbacks of broke uni. days where I didn’t have a pot to piss in half of the time. I can handle the feeling of being skint a day or two before payday but I could never be that guy feeding on bread and cheap Tesco noodles for two weeks every month so I exercise restraint.

Weed takes up a lot of my money as well so I have to be careful about how I spend the rest of my disposable.

I write everything down in a moleskine and have my filofax as well. I like to make records of everything in ink. SO i just went to the coop and bought some shopping so that gets all written down in shopping.

I was also fleeced for shopping and petrol by my eldest yesterday so that goes in another section.

Todays football expenses have been written up too.

I don't really stick to any budget and I do enjoy spending (probs too much on absolute rubbish at times) but I also save quite a bit too.

Badly.

We went from properly scraping by, to a little bit of disposable income to mess around with, to a quite considerable amount of disposable income that is still increasing significantly year on year... our essential outgoings really haven't changed much in the last 10 years... but our incomes went from just barely covering those (very stressful) to having a little left over for fun and we just seem to have stuck on that mindset... except now that "extra bit of money" is over 3/4 of our monthly income and we regularly spaff the entire ****ing lot on pretty much nothing at all :umm2:. Being sensible, we should be saving and investing, not giving it all to Mr Bezos.

I have a loose budget, I'm not massively into clothes or shoes or any of that and I don't like shopping much so I don't end up over spending on stuff like that. Probably take aways and weekends away are my biggest splurges. I'm OK with money, Gavin is really good with money
