He hasn't been "accused of it." He did, and his own team clarified that he'd never met Rashford but had met Moro Itoje.

Oh I agree and I believe Marcus said surely the accents were a clue to the difference.

I just think it a bit nitpicking to moan about it at him.
I mean it highlights in a way, how far removed and out of touch most of the present Con MPs are.

To be fair they looked nothing alike when they were younger, but have definitely started to look similar with age :think:

My wife insists that Helen Hunt and Jodie Foster look near-identical and I just don't see it at all. I don't even think they look similar. So I think there's maybe an argument that different people perceive faces differently and mix people up in different ways.

I don't really think any "offensive" part is that he thinks the two men look similar... ... it is a bit offensive to Maro Itoje that he had a conversation with someone and that person was so uninvested in it that they didn't even bother making sure they knew who they were talking to :umm2:. I get that they're busy and these meetings will be set up for them by others, but even just 5 minutes "briefing" before the call would be something.

He is from Manchester, so picture a totally different accent to Itoje who I think is from London.
