Are you more into traditional “old man” boozers which don’t serve food (other than crisps and nuts) or do you prefer pubs you can eat meals in (e.g., Wetherspoons)?

Old fashioned with a good band/jukebox and plenty of locals. Can’t beat it.

Both depending on my mood. My favourite local Pub is a bit of both, it's not "wetherspoon-y" it has the more old Pub vibe but they also do food (really good food as well)

Ditto. I actually prefer my local to ’spoons on most counts (its only disadvantages are that ’spoons has slightly cheaper burgers/wings and Bud Light for just £2.10). I still visit ’spoons with some frequency (especially on Thursdays) but I’m more of a “local” dude (so long as semi-decent food’s served).
I don't like pubs, the smell of them repulses me
we have lots of pubs around here that are hundreds of years old but still offer the services of modern gastro pubs. An ideal combination for me
