If you think that lockdowns for the sake of public health in a pandemic is equivalent to living under a dictatorship, then you should be overjoyed at the fact that you were born with privilege and have never known true tyranny because arguments like yours just come across as tantrums from someone truly ignorant of anyone's situation but their own.

To live a life where you feel oppressed because you might not be able to go to the pub in a lockdown, that would be nice. That would be easy mode.Well of course it's for our own good. They wouldn't be able to make the sale without that information.

It's common sense really, most people who oppose vaccinations or lockdown measures tend to be of the right wing, the right wing was mostly (although not completely) in favour of Brexit because they saw it as 'freedom' too. Freedom from protections against the degradation of human and employment rights but freedom in their eyes all the same. Further more, most right wingers will vote Tory. Considering all that logic, it makes sense that venn diagram of anti-lockdown protesters, tory voters and brexit supporters would be close to a circle. Thankfully not all tory voters are anti-lockdown or antivax morons.

Look world wide for your answer. In the US, the vast majority of anti-vaxxers, maskers and any kind of preventative measure for Covid are of the right wing and the republicans are mostly supporting such antics by having republican states rejecting measures to please their supporters.

In the UK, a lot of the anti-vaxxer protest groups such as Stand Up X has ideas and links to the Qanon conspiracy theory, a far right conspiracy theory.

There was an oxford study recently that revealed that vaccine hesitancy is more common amongst brexit voters and that lower income families are more likely to not get the jab, and given that far too much of the working class supports the tories, it's a fair assessment to say that tory supporters are more likely to reject the jab than say, Labour or Lib Dem supporters.
