Another horrific senseless number of murders.
Just absolutely tragic.
It's cases like this that make a solid argument to bring the death penalty back.

Absolutely Alf, keeping him and the scum like him alive does no good for humanity.

Just awful, unthinkable really. And for someone else's child to also be caught up in this. I can't even imagine how her parents must be feeling.

Honestly I don't normally support the death sentence but all I can really say on this is, if I was the father or a parent of the other girl who was killed, the guy would be better off begging the judge to lock him up until the day he dies because it would be better than what would happen if he ever got out.
someone that does multiple murders that includes children cannot be and doesn't deserve to be rehabilitated. We should have whole life sentences for these crimes. There should be no doubt that they will never see the light of day again
I will never support the death penalty, and for some of these murderers it would be the easy route out for them

I'm not for the death penalty either, but I'd be happy to look away and turn a blind eye in this case.

See the thing is you have this miss placed idea that these people suffer because they are living with what they done
If you are capable of killing not only adults but children the idea that they will feel responsible and sad for what they done is simple not true
In most cases these murderers don’t even admit to the crime hoping to get away with it
We put dangerous animals down I see murderers as no difference
And god for bid any like this happened to my family but I wouldn’t want the police involved because I couldn’t live knowing someone had did this was still alive

Horrific. Poor bairns and the mum.
Those poor parents finding out their kids have been murdered.

The justice system works by admitting your crime and saying the right things you will be eligible for parole
A man spent 17 years in prison because he wouldn’t admit to the crime because he was innocent
After someone took up his case he was found to be innocent the dna that convicted him was in fact never tested and wen it was it lead to the real criminal being locked up

Unfortunately it never seems to work like this - men like this one see red and turn violent, they're not thinking of the consequences at the time so it doesn't really matter what the consequences are.

Yes.

Always is, she probably wanted to finish it
A new report shows that in the UK a woman is killed by a man every three days.
Six women are killed every hour by men around the world, most by men in their own family or their partners.
Grim statistics huh?

Other than those involved in actual organised crime (cartels/drugs world etc.) women being killed by a partner or ex-partner is basically the #1 type of murder by a mile. A truly shameful statistic.
Niamh.

Yeah, 3 current threads on here about women (and children) murdered by men, looks like 2 by a partner/ex partner and 1 possibly a stranger

A lady who worked for us in a temp contract was murdered by her estranged husband a couple of years ago. It was awful....she was the nicest lady and had just been offered a permanent role with the company she was at and had said she finally felt like her life was going in the right direction after a rubbish few years

My wife works with victims of male violence and it really is staggering. Obviously murder is the extreme end of the scale that's more visible - but what you generally don't hear about is the STAGGERING number who find themselves being stalked/generally harassed by ex-partners who just won't let go, for years (sometimes decades) after a breakup. And even when they're making threats (even with recorded evidence like text messages, emails or voice messages) there's very little that can be done unless something physically happens. People end up having to uproot their whole lives and relocate, and sometimes even that isn't enough and they follow.

It will never act as a deterrent but it would be brilliant for the family that is left to know that the guy who did it is not going to be n jjail taking drugs, watching tv and boasting about how he did it for many many years to come
and then get released because he is now a nice person...

Exactly - my stance against it isn't particularly a moral one, it's the knowledge that the justice system and especially Trial by Jury is so flawed. If it was ever to be used, it would have to be in circumstances where there is absolutely no question of guilt, e.g. the crime was committed openly in a public place.
You can't even 100% trust video footage these days.

Well, it's moral in the way that, imo 100 dead murderers isn't worth the life of 1 innocent man/woman

This is what I think too. Sometimes I hear about cases where you think the death penalty is deserved, but there is always the chance of miscarriages of justice.

same room for error in condemning them to a life in jail

same room for error in condemning them to a life in jailThere is but there's always a chance that new evidence arises and they could be freed in that case. There's no coming back after an execution
