A lovely guy I know has just died of a drugs overdose and was under 30, went off the rails mixed with wrong people so sad

When an Addiction gets a hold of someone it’s no longer the person talking but the addiction telling people what they want to hear

I think there need to be a massive change in the way we treat addiction

Rehab should not be for the rich and famous it should be for everyone.

Rehab should not be for the rich and famous it should be for everyone.

Everyone does have access to rehab... sort of... the waiting lists are huge and half of the facilities are absolute ****. It is pretty fair to say that the only reliable access to genuinely good rehab facilities costs quite a bit of money.

Then again the problem with the expensive facilities is that they ARE so great and offer so much in them, people successfully ditch the drugs in that environment and feel like they'll never take them again, with 24/7 access to relaxation facilities and therapy ... but back in the real world it's a different story.

Most of the time it's more of a detox than a rehab. That's important as well though. Often regular detox time for the body to recover is all that stands between a heavy addict and progressive multi-organ-failure.
