So you are at someone's house and you are about to leave/thinking about going

You slap your knees and say "right!" and then stand up

Do you do this or do you see people do this?

Haha yeah I do that, often a nightmare waiting for the tiniest pause in conversation to initiate the exit

I don't slap my knees but definitely seen other people do it, I do say "right, I better be going/I better leg it/I better get out of here(any other version of I need to leave)" before I go though

I get up and leave without saying "right" at all. I'm not a part of your system. Happy Birthday to the GROUND!!!

In my teenager days, we used to say, "smell you later" Which we stole from Will Smith in The Fresh Prince.
