How can masculinity be called "toxic" when it produces results like this?

Saw that last month....kids watching....what a brave man. I hate Animals being held in captivity especially for entertainment value.

1) What does it have to do with masculinity?
2) "Toxic masculinity" isn't a phrase that means "masculinity is toxic"; it refers to a certain type of masculinity that is toxic (to be more specific, it mostly refers to the idea that "real men don't show their feelings", "boys don't cry" etc. that leads to a lot of men masking their anxieties and sadness with anger and aggression).

A boy sees an alligator in the zoo and shouts,
“Hey, are you a caiman?”
The alligator replies, “I’m alright, thanks, kid!”
