I wouldn't hold your breath Nicky.

I have no real interest in Newcastle, I feel it's a club that has failed its fans for many decades not just the last one and a half decades.

They haven't worn anything of note since 1969 it seems.
52 years.
Apart from division 2 champions and Championship leaders after multiple relegations.

Even with players like Keegan, Shearer, Michael Owen and many others too.
Always nearly delivering while never doing so.

Loving football, I'm not sure how I feel with Saudi involvement in any way.
It's sad the way football ownership has gone for me.

I wish them well and especially for their long suffering fans, who have been disappointed season after season for the last 50 years by whoever owned this club and who managed it too.

Not just over the last 14 years.

Good luck to them however.

Top-flight clubs have complained to the Premier League after it cleared the £305m takeover of Newcastle by a Saudi Arabian-backed group.

There is understood to be frustration from clubs about how the deal passed the owners' and directors' test.

Concerns also arose as to why they were not kept informed after the surprise news emerged on Wednesday.

Additionally, there are worries as to how Saudi Arabian owners will reflect on the league itself.

There are many human rights issues linked to the kingdom.
Clubs are demanding a meeting with the Premier League, which has previously said the takeover process would remain confidential.

There is irritation with the Premier League board from all 19 other clubs, who are united in a view they should have been kept updated on an issue of such significance.

The clubs also feel they should have been told what had changed to allow the deal to proceed before it was completed.

When approving the takeover on Thursday, the Premier League said it has received legal assurances from the new owners that the Saudi state would not control Newcastle United and there would be punishments if it was proven otherwise.

The takeover was 80% financed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, whose chair is Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Western intelligence agencies say he ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, an allegation Bin Salman denies.

Following Thursday's takeover, Amanda Staveley, Newcastle's director, told BBC sports editor Dan Roan that PCP Capital took concerns over Saudi Arabia's human rights record "very seriously" but reiterated that their partner "is not that Saudi state, it's PIF".

When asked if this was a case of 'sportswashing' by Saudi Arabia, she said: "No, not at all, this is very much about the PIF's investment into a fantastic football team and we look forward to growing the club.

good news, at least not another ''buy buy buy'' club unlike the greedy teams like PSG, Man City

those Saudi's don't need to control the club entirely anyways so glad they aren't doing that, but Newcastle can use the money for other purposes, youth academy, scouting department, i am so here for Newcastle snatching away some new rising stars from other top teams

they don't need mbappe

190 million is a decent budget, however i would make a budget of 160 million on transfers and 30 million to invest into youth academy, better scouts to find latest rising stars (mainly i'd focus on south america then if there are any new hugely talented brazilians or argentinians or uruguayans)

160 million you can try to sign Jude Bellingham of Dortmund maybe, maybe Antony from Ajax

that the FA actually allowed these teams to have a vote in the first place

where were these complaints when there was the takeover of Man City, or Chelsea

so other teams need to shut up and do not begin to moan only now  City, Chelsea are probably feeling very scared of them getting another tough competitor

yeah ok they abstained, but of course they abstained, since they would have not much right to vote in this

but Chelsea should've also abstained, considering Abramovich's shady sponsorship deals and friend politics here and there throughout europe (Vitesse and the failed takeover of FC Den Bosch of Merab Jordania's son Khaki)

I think they will strengthen considerably in Jan or before ( with loan signings )

I’ve heard that they’ve earmarked a few real good players that will have an immediate impact .... before they start really spending

United’s Lingard for one plus Burnley’s James Tarkowskie who’s apparently wanting a move... even Coutinho would jump at the chance to return to the PL . Aaran Ramsey also linked
