In tonights show Laura was tickling Liams feet and when he finally gave in she called him you ****. Considering that Emily was kicked out over a certain word which could cause offense do you think double standards are going on or is this word acceptable?

I wouldn't say "****" is worth getting kicked out over.

So if she has said it to Gerry would it of been worse?

LMAO!

This topic is hilarious. So you're saying people can't say the word "Puff" now? She said it in a jokingly way and it was funny.

puff isnt an offensive word in my opinion anway, but if its said to a gay person they might take it the wrong way if they were the sensitive type i suppose :conf:

Actually , i live in Wales and know lots of people who call boys this who are whimps all the time, she doesnt mean it offensivley but jokingly, but then again thats what Emily did... i don't think its double standards cos i dont think its that offensive

"****" and "Puff" are words that convey that being a wimp automatically makes you gay.not a great word at all.You can see where the offense comes from.

That said,Gerry may say it

Yeah, but its one of those words which has lost a bit of its meaning really. She didnt mean it in a nasty way , nowadays people use that words just to suggest your wimpy, its lost a bit of its true meaning

**** is a lot less serious that the word Emily said.

She shouldn't be kicked out but she should be punished.

Agree 100%.

But to be fair, Emily was removed for saying a word that might offend someone, so Laura should be removed too.

But the show threw Emily out and has kept Laura in and both words were considered offensive and both word were shown to the audience at home watching, of all ages....

It all seems strange to me:puzzled::puzzled:

But your post spitfire is an opinion by many.

There was a user who pointed out that the word "****" describes an effeminate man, and isn't necessarily a homophobic term. However, she really should be more careful with what she says.

What did I say about this yesterday?
I can't remember???:puzzled: (Sorry there was another thread started and that will probably be merged with this at some point)
Oh yeah, it does not matter what you, I or the next person thinks it is what the BB RULEBOOK states that matters.
If that rulebook states that Laura has broken the 'offensive' word rule and if it is as vaguely generic then Laura could be in trouble.

Thinking about this overnight though, I would hope that Endemol and Channel 4 had got the best lawyers to draw contracts up with the housemates and certainly 'other' aspects would be taken into account? Laura has had no arguments with Gerry and no reason to speak in a underhand or derogatory way to him; whereas with Emily there had been previous animosity with Charley. Sorry to bring up Emily here but it is important in what I am trying to say.
