The Writer/Producer
was on Early AM Radio5

He has blocked BBC showing it all in one go.

He wants all to tune in every Monday 9PM BBC1HD

This has been brilliant. One of the best TV series I've ever watched.
Can't wait for next week finale.
The acting and writing has been top notch.
James is a great actor, I don't know how he manages to make me feel sorry for Tommy.

That is how you do a finale LOD, that final scene between Catherine and TLR was phenomenal.

Catherine saving TLR (even if he eventual dies) was unexpected but we needed more Allison scenes i was hoping they would go traveling together

He did die, did you see the text Catherine got when she was at her daughter's grave?

But yeah, the BBC Drama ever made? Probably!

Yea I know he died i mean the fact she could have just left him there to burn to death but she made the decision to save him and give him a chance of suriving even though he didn't that was their way of showing how polar opposite the characters were.

The final embrace of Catherine and Clare had me in tears, we saw Catherine let her know she forgave her without saying a word

That’s the only scene of the whole story / series that I have seen .. he kinda came across as quite a decent guy .. presumably I’m missing something here

The writing did dangle sympathy in front of the audience for that last scene though. I found myself feeling a bit sad for him tbh. Considering his sh!t upbringing, no love, useless parents, nothingness. And when he said about how Becky wanted to leave him, and that's when he went off the rails. Scared to lose the only love he ever really received from anyone, how Becky made him feel "normal".

Overall the right thing happened. And the showdown between Catherine and Tommy at the end was very well acted and executed.

Absolutely smashing show.

One of the best series I've ever watched. Every actor absolutely killed it. Hope they consider the spin-off they set up.

Yes a Spin Off
would be good

Apparently on the last day of filming Sarah Lancashire stated that she didn’t care much for the final scenes and the writer changed the ending to fit in with Sarah’s ideas
