My kids had a Buzz Lightyear and it was an absolute pain in the arse because the wings kept breaking :fist:. Woody and Jessie were the firm favourites though. “There’s a SNEKE in myyy boot”

This is a great “spin-off” idea. Looking forward to it!

[Has Disney canceled Tim Allen?
Fans question if actor who voiced Buzz Lightyear
in original films has now been sidelined
because of his right wing views
Allen, 68, was replaced in the role of
the beloved Buzz Lightyear by Chris Evans
Allen has voiced the Toy Story character
since 1995 and as recently as 2019
Republican Allen is a vocal conservative
and 'politically, kind of an anarchist'
Some fans questioned whether he
was replaced because he is a Republican
It came after many said they were happy
to see the 'Trumper' replaced
But others suggested the change is
simply due to the film portraying the character
as a 'human' Buzz Lightyear,
while Allen instead voices the toy]

What I don't get is that Buzz is supposed to be a real-world inspiration for the toy in Toy Story but the space technology shown here is far in advance of our own; or could it be this is the fictitious story it is based on?

Anyway it looks pretty good.

Wrong.

“The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy—introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.”

This is the story of the human Buzz who inspired the toy Buzz. A “real” astronaut.

My assumption was that it would be like "A film from within the Toy Story films" ... so, in the world of Toy Story, this film (or series of Buzz Lightyear films) already existed, and the toy Buzz is the merchandise from those films, and now we're getting to see that "original" film in full..

On the other hand - the Toy Story universe is fictional so I guess we don't actually know that it's meant to be an exact mirror of this world. Maybe in the Toy Story universe, they DO have more advanced space travel, we wouldn't really know from the previous films because they're all set in people's "everyday life", which wouldn't necessarily be "space aged".
