Laura launches into Gerry for keeping her up last night...
If there's a guaranteed way to stoke up a big old row, it's slagging someone off only for them to walk into the room in the middle of said slagging. And that's exactly what just happened to Gerry and Laura. Oops.
"I walk in and you're talking about how late I go to bed," Gerry said as he stumbled across the conversation between Laura and Carole.
"You sleep all day and you're up all night," said Laura, clearly rankled by the previous evening's events.
"I'm 30 years old, it's my business," said Gerry, defiantly fanning the flames.
"No it's not," spat Laura, "there's other people living in this bedroom."
Gerry seemed to adopt a more conciliatory attitude, but the tone of his voice suggested otherwise.
"From now on Laura, I'm going to be very careful not to disturb your sleep," said Gerry mockingly.
"I go to bed early every single night, but I can't get to sleep because you keep me up," snapped Laura.
At this point, Gerry headed into the garden to canvass opinion from the boys. Still fired up, he unwisely decided to confront Laura once again...
"Why have you got such a vendetta," he demanded of Laura who was busy washing her clothes in the bath.
"I haven't got a vendetta," she barked. "You're the one who keeps going on about me."
"I am a very patient person," Gerry said quietly, "don't be unfair to me."
But Laura was intractable. "You kept me up..." she started to say, but Gerry had lost it.
"I apologised for KEEPING YOU UP!" he shouted.
Calm down Gerry, calm down...
