View Full Version : Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai missing after sexual assault allegation
Anyone been following this story? Peng alleged early in the month that she was forced to have a sexual relationship with the Chinese Vice Premier and has not been heard from since. This evening Chinese media have been posting an email purporting to be from her which says she is fine but it seems fake as hell. Whole thing is so messed up and sinister

The head of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has cast doubt on an email released by Chinese state media attributed to tennis player Peng Shuai.
Steve Simon, chairman of the WTA, said in a statement he had a "hard time believing" the email was written by Ms Peng or on her behalf.
One of China's biggest sporting stars, she has not been heard from since she made sexual assault allegations against a top Chinese official.
The email was shared on Wednesday.
Broadcaster CGTN published the correspondence - allegedly written by Ms Peng - online. Written in her voice, it claims she was not missing or unsafe, adding: "I've just been resting at home and everything is fine."
The email also said the sexual assault allegation attributed to her was false.
Many responding on social media have cast doubt on the authenticity of the email - including pointing out that a typing cursor appears to be visible on the screenshot of the email published by CGTN.

She was making too much of a racket I'd guess.
Seriously though I hope that she's okay.
You can't trust a word that comes out from China. She will most probably be dead

Peng is a former world number one doubles player who has won two Grand Slam titles - at Wimbledon in 2013 and the 2014 French Open, both alongside Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Su-wei.
She also achieved a career-high singles rankings of 14 in 2011 and reached the US Open singles semi-finals in 2014.

Yes
after the House Arrest ends
that is after the 2 months of House Arrest
since those are going to be held in February
there's not much to be reported in this news story mainly because there in China they don't want any of this drama ahead of winter olympics can understand this very well honestly
for now we just have to believe that one video of Peng Shuai we saw on twitter
this news story might be a ''to be continued'' after winter olympics, she should've been more careful regarding all of this, you don't just accuse any government official of such things, at least not without concrete evidence
WTA threatening to ban tournaments in China is foolish and quite a financial blow for them, this ''story'' needs to be sorted out in a calm way and not now
