We're already in the midst of a critical shortage of trained nurses in the UK, and even if they somehow made it an insanely attractive career and created tends of thousands more training places (both things which we are currently NOT doing), it would be at least 5 years until that translates into boots on the ground. We absolutely NEED to import chunks of our workforce. There's no two ways about it.
