The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have delighted fans with the release of their 2021 Christmas card

Seems this is the Christmas card picture. Unless they want to overdo it and release an actual festive photo?

OK! Lifestyle.

[The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared their annual Christmas card featuring their adorable children.
But this year the card has a slightly different theme than usual, with the family seen sitting in summer attire while on holiday…..
…..The family were in Jordan at the time of the photo being taken.
The Cambridges travelled there for a holiday during their children's half-term break.
Jordan is of particular important to Kate, who lived there for two years between 1984 and 1986.
Kate lived with her family there while her father, Michael, worked for British Airways.
Prince William also visited the Middle Eastern country in 2018.

And many were quick to congratulate the family on their location choice.
One person wrote: "I just wanna say thank you for being such a wonderful example of grace, acceptance, and love.
"You exemplify that on the highest level."
Another added: "You can tell how much they love each other and enjoy each others company such a great looking family.]

I'm afraid I'm never really impressed with these kind of cards.
From Royals, politicians or celebrities or in fact from people in general.

I'd never send anyone a Christmas card or in fact any other card with a picture or pictures of myself on or even in it.

Seems very American to send out cards like this, I have got one every year from the family I worked with in the States in the 90s.

Its quite traditional for the Royals to do this at Christmas....I dont see the problem. Its a lovely family photo. Its also one to go public so as we can all get a glimpse of our future King and his wife and family and how they are growing up.

I always always see Charlottes likeness to The Queen and George looks like his Dad but I always struggled to see who Louis looked like... but I just realised that he looks like Kates father...

I didn't say there was a problem....it just seems very American to me, I know the Monarch has always done one but as William is not king yet I didn't realise they all did one. It was an observation, that's all.

The picture itself is lovely, as I had already said.

I've never liked things like this.
To me it comes across pretentious on the part of the senders.

IF someone wants a photo of someone give them one.
Not splash the whole family's picture on every card you send to others.

I just find it a bit sick really, no matter how low or how high the person or family may be.

I would for sure.
None of my family would send cards with photos of themselves on.

It is a lovely family picture no doubt.
However enclose the pic with a sent card not have the image splashed on the front of the card.

Plus I consider my family and my friends wholesome and very important and decent.
Thankfully none would stoop to the level of shoving their pic to others on greetings cards.

I say again, whether it's Royalty, Politicians or any celebrities, I've always thought unnecessary any need to send cards this way.

A family who were friends with my parents actually used to do this when I was a kid - along with a letter about their kids achievements for the year. It was awful and hilarious. Also one time when we went to their place for dinner, the dad went on the piano and started playing songs from musicals, with his daughter singing along. Honestly just bizarre behaviour.

To be fair though, when you have round the clock armed protection officers it is easy to be a bit more relaxed about people seeing your children. Many celebrities don't show their children's faces as they can then become a target. Its not as easy to target a child when you don't know what the child looks like.

I agree, it's lovely to see the Cambridge children growing up....as we did with William and Harry but I can't condemn anyone who wants to keep their children's images private until they are of an age themselves to decide if they want their pictures out there.

Well there's no furore from me Cherie.
The forum posted the card thereby inviting comments on it surely.

My point isn't just about this card.
I find it pretentious and even distasteful that people force their image on others in greetings cards.

I say again whether that's Royals, Politicians, celebrities or even my own friends or family.
None of my friends or family would even dream of putting their picture on a greetings card to anyone.

So my gripe is against anyone who does so not just these.

No furore, just I find it pathetic.
Enclose a picture with the card but to have your own image staring out from the front of it.
No thanks, not for me.
I think it's saying, look at me, look at us.
I wouldn't put a card up sent to me from whoever sent me it, if they had their own images on it.

I’m referring to the likes of their officially released images. Hand, foot, cartoon - like.
To be accurate, there are pics and and a few vids of Archie clearly shown with either Harry (on the beach) and Meghan or both. Meghan reading Duck Rabbit to him springs to mind.
Harry and Meghan have protection officers, so the children are protected also. Probably not as well as they would be in the Royal fold, so fair enough, I take your point.
