I've never seen any of these movies but I have bought all four Avengers movies and as I understand it, it makes no sense just watching those four films.

Can any expert on these films tell me the ones I need to watch and which order I should watch them in?

I understand there's over 20 of these films, so I don't need to watch them all, just the ones that are important to watch for getting the gist of it all.

There must be at least one expert on here than can help me out?

Alright my memory is a bit rough on where to start exactly, but I think that this is the order.

1. Iron Man
2. The Incredible Hulk
3. Captain America
4. Thor
5. Avengers

And then my memory goes really **** after this.

That’s literally the first 5 in order

HOWEVER, I would watch the “big 3” origin stories.

- Iron Man (essential)
- Thor (probably optional tbh)
- Captain America (essential, also just a good watch, set in WW2)

- Avengers

- Captain America: The Winter Soldier
- Guardians of the Galaxy

- Avengers age of ultron

- Captain America: Civil war (this is basically Avengers 2.5)
- Doctor Strange
- Thor Ragnarok

- Avengers: Infinity War
- Avengers Endgame

So that’s 12 out of the 22 up to Endgame.

OPTIONALLY I would say also watch Black Panther and Guardians 2 before Infinity War. If you enjoy Guardians 1 you’ll probably just want to watch it anyway. Black Panther honestly you can get the gist from Civil War + Infinity War. Maybe Ant Man before Endgame but to be honest again you can get the gist from context and other films.
