I'm doing 2 Christmas Dinners this year, we're having Gavins homemade Vegetable Soup for a starter for the 2nd one but I'm looking for ideas for Starters for the first one if anyone has some suggestions. I'd like something with fish but not Prawn cocktail

Smoky salmon tartare with lemon and capers
If you love serving smoked salmon for a Christmas starter, this is a great
modern twist. The salmon is finely chopped and tossed in a fragrant dressing of
lemon, shallots and capers. Serve with thin slices of melba toast.

Soup and a buttered bread roll for starter
Turkey dinner with all the usual trimmings.
Not decided if I'll have a pudding yet. I may just have a piece of coffee cake.
Some wine with my dinner.
I'll be getting pissed before that to build up an appetite. A couple of Manhattens and a few brown ales.
After dinner I shall put on The Ten Commandments and fall asleep to it in my recliner.

We'll probably go with that for Dessert too as it's Gav's favourite and Luke makes apple pies

I don't even buy crackers, I've only got my brother coming for lunch and we're crackers enough without pulling anymore.
Get pissed
Stuff our faces
Flake out
That's the schedule.

i eat chicken and fish regularly, and steak rarely, so for me a steak on Christmas day is much more of a treat than turkey ever could be :smug:
