There was an internet personality I used to kind of like (Lindsay Ellis) who recently felt the need to leave her internet "job" because of idiots on the internet overreacting to every little thing...

It's not trolling that destroys lives, it's taking trolls seriously.

It's not "trolling" that's the problem, "trolling" originally was basically people taking the piss in a way that was annoying / irritating but not exactly harmful. What's happening these days is that incidents of outright harassment and abuse are being minimised as "trolling" when they're actually something far more serious... and should be treated as a criminal matter like any other form of harassment.

I have nothing against your typical troll comments (especially if they're being made by people that are underaged) but I honestly do think that harassment and threats need to be tackled more seriously imo, again especially when they're being done by adults.

As he works for the BBC and as I pay for the BBC, then I pay his wages. So in my opinion, I don't care about his opinions. He should just do what he's paid by me to do and make TV programmes and keep his personal opinions, personal. We all have problems in life, we don't need the weight of his personal problems, we have our own to take care of.

Well I was watching a YouTube video yesterday about how this Youtuber guy who'd been accused of being a Paedophile (I don't know if he is innocent or not) was trying to get a job (because YouTube had banned him) and every time that he'd try these people on the Internet would keep harassing the businesses that hired him to fire him because of the crime that they thought he'd committed. So basically he couldn't find work because of these people believing him to be a Paedophile and was getting harassed out of jobs which imo is wrong regardless of if his guilty or not.

Don't get me wrong if he is a Pedo and he is trying to become a Teacher or something else involving a strong interaction with kids then fair enough, but these people were out to ruin his life regardless of if he might be innocent, which to me is disgusting.

Basically I'm with you that internet harassment needs to be tackled.
