think some contenders on paper are
Mathieu van der Poel, Primoz Roglic, Tadej Pogacar, Nairo Quintana, Rigoberto Uran
think Peter Sagan is one to watch in the mountains, same goes for Bauke Mollema, Rafal Majka
as for sprinters, lucky for rest Cavendish isn't taking part, some chances for Wout van Aert or some more surprise sprint stage winners
am curious what the british can do, like Geraint Thomas or Chris Froome, or Adam and Simon Yates

stage 8 of today, we head into Switzerland
from Dole all the way to the finish line in Lausanne
a place of some dutch successes, Gerrie Knetemann in 1978 and Erik Dekker in 2000
on the way to the finish, there are 3 cols, and the finish is at a 4th col, after the 3rd col there is a long downhill section and seems to be ideal for riders such as Wout van Aert, Mathieu van der Poel

tomorrows stage 10
lots of hills in the road from Morzine to Megéve
wednesday and thursdays respective stage 11 and 12 though the riders are awaiting cols from the first and the outer category, while in tomorrows stage they can already warm themselves up to that with some hills from the 4th, 3rd and 2nd category
In 2020 two Dauphine stages finished in Megéve: Lennard Kamna and Sepp Kuss won back then, In the Tour de France 2016 the climbing time trial to Megéve was won by Chris Froome, just ahead of Tom Dumoulin and Fabio Aru
Nicky91
24-07-2022, 01:51 PM
with just the plain final stage to go
almost certain that Jonas Vingegaard has won this years tour de france ahead of Tadej Pogacar in second place and british Geraint Thomas in third place
mountain standings won by Jonas Vingegaard, 2nd Simon Geschke, 3rd Giulio Ciccone
sprint standings for Wout van Aert, 2nd Tadej Pogacar, 3rd Jasper Philipsen
youth standings for Tadej Pogacar, 2nd Tom Pidcock 3rd Brandon McNulty
team standings, also almost certain for Ineos-Grenadiers, 2nd Groupama-FDJ 3rd Jumbo-Visma
but who will get the honour to come over the finish first at champs-elysees?
