Justice or Money

You have been a victim of a sexual crime you have gone to a lawyer and they have told you that you can proceed with a court case but there is no guarantee that you will get justice

But they tell you that the accused is willing to settle the case for a large some of money if you agree to drop the allegations and any future allegations

What would you choose to do?

Then I would have to weigh up the chances of a conviction.
But they should be made to pay one way or another.:shrug:

Justice 100% , what good is money if the criminal is still walking the streets ready to attack their next victim. The whole point is to stop them , and just getting a pay out won't do that.

If you get both justice and money however then that's another thing.

Whilst I totally agree with this sentiment I can also see why victims choose to accept a pay out instead, victims of sexual abuse and rape (especially female victims) go through such a massive ordeal in these trials, their sexual history brought up and scrutinized, what they wear, down to their underwear judged and sometimes passed around court rooms, their characters assassinated and in the vast majority of cases the accused being found not guilty anyway and the victim is deemed a liar, a slut, a gold digger.
