Not Wakefield's fault at this point: The COVID anti-vaxxers will be driving general anti-vaccination sentiment. Convince unscientifically-minded people that the COVID vaccine is terribly bad for them, and those people are obviously not going to have ANYTHING injected into their children.

Well yeah, so many people have lumped their own covid vaccine fears to every other vaccine so it's obvious they'd prevent important vaccinations for their kids too. Very sad.

The Lancet Fraud played a huge part in anti-vaccine rhetoric, sure, but the current surge is due to Covid anti-vaxxers, nothing to do with Wakefield. He was struck off more than a decade ago and his original paper was 25 years ago.

On the news it said many parents didn’t know vaccines were going ahead or didn’t want to burden the NHS, given you couldn’t get inside the door of the GP I am not surprised rates have fallen in the pandemic

Its been almost impossible to get appointments round here for over a year.
