Love this show
Started watching it when the new series was being aired on FiveUSA, and had to get more :joker:
It's similar to the L&O with old Bradders, with the cases being investigated by the police and taken on by the prosecutors, but focusing mostly on sex crimes, and sometimes general crimes against vulnerable people.
I've started watching the free-to-watch seasons on Prime, and others by sailing the high seas, and the random reruns on evenings.
Olivia  Rollins  Fin  Sonny  Kat

Love it. Always watch it on my days off, because here it's on quite late at night.

Yeah I sometimes put those on to fall asleep to - not saying they're boring :joker:
The seasons they rerun at that time seem to loop between the ones before Rollins joined, and she's my favourite

I thought that the earlier seasons were good.

I guess in the late night reruns (not seen the really early ones) there was more diversity in the roles - i don't mean Hollywood "diversity", i mean like the psychologist dude who was from Jurassic Park, and the lady pathologist... it's really just the detectives and prosecutors nowadays...

I love the show. I just wish it was on earlier.
I can only watch it when I'm not working.

Yup I watch it mostly everyday. You need to watch from the start, good storylines and we know more about the characters.

I don't get why Kat's friend said "you'll make detective"' in last night's episode, I assumed she already was, as she's plainclothes and in a specialised unit. Maybe I missed or forgot something from her first episode/s...

I think I will! The free seasons on Prime were 16+17, then I sailed the seas for 18-21. I stopped at 22 because that's the one airing on 5USA, and I like watching things weekly :joker: but yeah I definitely want to watch 1-15.
I know in the current main cast, Olivia is the only one who's been there from the beginning, along with Fin who joined in S2 or 3!

For me I was doing okay with the Show until they did an "all Gamers are racist & rapists" episode, it was just really offensive imo and I don't get morally outraged by a TV Show very lightly.
But I liked the characters that you're on about too, BD Wong was also good as Hugo Strange in Gotham imo, I don't know what you thought of him in that Show?

Eh, I'm gonna go all "Hollywood Bad" again, but there are some issues which simply won't be portrayed in a nuanced way in today's media. Can be annoying, but one has to choose between enjoying something and sometimes getting annoyed, or one can just completely cut it off because it was annoying once.

Not seen it, I get a bit funny about adaptations of books or comics I like. Ironically, I choose to cut it off preemptively rather than getting annoyed :joker:
But based on how he played the characters in JP, JW, and SVU, I'd say he's a good shout for Dr Strange, assuming he's comics-accurate.

Okay having spent most of this weekend, last weekend, and last week's evenings watching early SVU, I have to say I love it :joker: I skipped straight to S2, as I didn't wanna waste time watching episodes without Tutuola  and to get past the point where it would have been finding its feet etc.
I love Munch, he's such a weirdo :joker: probably my favourite detective from the show.

Yes Olivia has been in it from the start, though she was usually second billed so I’m glad she’s the main star now. Finn I think joined season 2 yeah.

I think for me I was just disgusted by the episode in a way that I don't think I've been since by another Show.
I was probably harsh looking back on it though.
I don't know if his portrayal on Gotham is Comic Book accurate as I've only read a handful of Batman Comics, but I definitely liked his performance.

Oh I getcha. Some people still carp on about "GamerGate", which usually tanks their right to be taken seriously (whichever "side" they're on) but attacking gamers certainly was a thing a few years back.
Dr Strange has had two major stories in Batman comics lore - Monster Men, where he created genetic monsters from people (obvious:joker:) and one where he was a mini-celebrity in Gotham, talking about how Batman is a menace etc. He was consultant for an "anti vigilante squad", and actually cracked Batman's identity through psychological profiling, police reports, and something Bats said when dosed with Fear Toxin...
