Its the highest they have been in the betting since Blue 11 years back.
While the song or artist hasn't been revealed their are loads of rumours from London Grammer, Sam Ryder, Griff, Chelsee Grimes and Claudia Valentina with Sam Ryder being the strongest rumour after releasing a 3 min edited version of his new song Spaceman.
Sam is very famous on Social media after finding fame over lockdown for his singing videos on Tik Tok where he has over 15m followers

How are we 5th favourite if the people who actually vote for the winner haven't heard the song?
Bull. We'll never win ever again. Be a miracle if we ever got back on the left hand side of the score board tbh.

This is like 99% likely to be the entrant, it has had a revamp and cut some of it out to fit 3 mins

Sounds boring, definitely not a winner.
What don’t we learn about sending all these men on their own to Eurovision - even SuRie did better than last.
None of our former winners have been single men… just established bands and established women.

Nobody is expecting a winner straight off the bat, it takes progression and this is out best song in 13 years hence why since this song was all but confirmed our odds have shortened to 5rh favourite

It's got nothing to do with the singer being male more so that they have not had a male capable of giving a great performance something which Sam is fantastic at, you really need to check up is songs especially Tiny Riot

Betti g odds are (in large part) based on what people are betting on which doesn't necessarily reflect the likelihood of actually winning, especially when the voter pool and betting pool are different.
I.e. These odds are coming from the bets of the British public, who have a large component betting patriotically, but they have no actual sway over who will win, so the odds can skew in ways that are incongruent with the likely outcome.

Even Brits themselves don’t think they can even be top favourite , it has to be 5th

But we have never had odds this low since Blue in 2011, Odds show that people have some sort of faith for them to be betting on it

Yes that’s true
We also used to send well known artists in their prime and got high placing
e.g. Mary Hopkin, New Seekers, Cliff, Shadows, Lynsey De Paul etc come to mind
Our streak ended in 1978 when unsurprisingly we sent a totally new group no had ever heard of, ‘Co-Co’

Is always mixed, Total nobody Jade Ewan managed to get us 5th in 2009 and former ex factor contestant Lucie Jones got us our best result since then with 15th but on that time we sent Blue (who would have charted a lot higher if they actually performed the rehearsal properly) Bonnie Tyler who despite having a great voice used the worse song on her upcoming Album and Englbert who was decades way to late

no, then it'll likely go to a random drawn country
maybe Dusseldorf once more, given that one was also picked by a Australia back in 2016 when they were contenders to win with Dami
or maybe Glasgow or Aberdeen given that one got picked by EBU once before when Monaco had their win and they couldn't host due to not having a suitable venue

not going to bother getting fully interested into it this year
for sure how my main interests are going to American song contest
having looked through some of artists i didn't know before there, but all in all lots of talent what NBC have approached alongside Atlantic Records
and i can see Michael Bolton being a HUGE favourite for the housewives vote demographic, haven't heard his song yet of course, but based upon all his past work
imo for Riker Lynch with a lot of girls voting for him (also he has a song from the swedish team Jimmy Jansson, Andreas Carlsson and US rock composer Desmond Child)

also what is his song about, ''i'm up in space, man'' umm being high from drugs? :umm2:

This song is weird, I couldnt actually understand what hes singing because he pronunciation isnt very good but ive looked up the lyrics and he actually doesnt sing about a "space man" at all, hes singing "space, man".
Strange lyrics/song. but his voice is good.

Cheap programming for the BBC 3-4 hours every Saturday night once a year, and the semis on bbc4 too

Yeah I don't know why Australia is in Eurovision contest, when they're nothing to do with Europe. Strange.
because they've broadcasted the contest for over more than 40 years
and contributed to the contest many times too before their debut
Johnny Logan, Gina G, many others born in australia
can see same thing happening for Kazakhstan as well, when they've shown interest long enough, they are already in junior eurovision for last 4 years on invitation and proven to be quite popular and doing well results wise either
I'm well aware of that, but what about the mess that is Brexit.
Well in Brexit the U.K. left the EU, not Europe  did you know what you were voting for..?

The EU and Europe are not the same thing... There are (and have always been) loads of non-EU countries in Eurovision. And as has been pointed out, even some non-European countries who just wanted in on the fun, such as Israel and Australia and (until this year...) Russia.

Well Russia is in Europe
Well Russia is in Europe
it's not actually. It stretches across several continents, but the majority of it is in asia with areas bordering europe
By any standard definition it is considered asian

Yes, I like it. It's the best entry we've had for years. But in the last few years the European countries have given the UK either few marks or none at all, so I don't hold out much hope of it being top 10.

Israel belongs with europe more, like they also are members within the UEFA after having gotten expelled from Asia's AFC because of being troublemakers, regarding rival clashes with Jordan, Palestine, Iran
Kazakhstan are association members, but they are eager to become full members of EBU, they are already full members of UEFA
Kazakhstan are one part in europe, another part in asia, and they can potentially take part at adult ESC via their european side broadcaster which they already use for JESC (junior eurovision)

‘Stretches across several continents’ , no it stretches across 2, Europe and Asia
The bit where most people live is in Europe
And Kaliningrad is firmly embedded in Europe
So I am free to say Russia is in Europe if I want

i don't particularly care who wins, there are more important things than winning
Malta's song is my personal winner, also because of Emma fully embracing and enjoying every second of the eurovision experience
and i love how she's a Sam Ryder, Mahmood fangirl + and her becoming friends with Ireland's entry Brooke

having fun, something recent UK flop entries didn't have and what Sam seems to have, enjoying every second of this experience too
at the draw of which half, he channeled bits of Bowie and Elton in his look  now that is what i call truly embracing the spirit of eurovision
only one can win yes, but we need to celebrate all 40 competing entries this upcoming week, quite a lot who have promising careers ahead of them and already some who have good careers
Australia's Sheldon Riley for example, vocal powerhouse
Malta's Emma Muscat, as of today reached milestone of 60 million spotify streams in her young career so far :D which includes songs in english, italian, spanish and she can also sing in maltese
Spain's Chanel, already a film, tv actress superstar, and a huge name in spanish musical theatre world, and now set to make a huge career for herself in music industry

The televote is our sticky point but I do think Sam has enough to win the jury vote.
But Ukraine has a very weak song and their rehearsals have not been great and I just don't think the juries will go with the pity vote

i'm conflicted regarding their song, i really like the singing parts, but i dislike the rapping
the singing parts are really gorgeous, very anthemic
it's a fun song overall but it really should not win, rather want UK or Sweden to take it then, or even Greece, France have a good song as well, in Breton instead of french for a change, so this year no songs in french

at a country of Ukraine's choice probably
so maybe Sweden considering their good reputation for solid show production quality
or one of big 5 like Germany maybe, that one is also australia's choice of host country should they win at some point

I personally don’t see the UK coming 2nd although I think they’ll be on the “first half” of the board, and even that would be an achievement given the scores in recent years. The UK has taken the brunt of the anti-Europe rhetoric coming from Russia and that won’t have gone unnoticed. Scandinavian countries will probably do well too because of their proximity to the war and the threats made against them.
