[Conservatives return to Blackpool]

[Prime minister Boris Johnson is among
the Tory big-hitters due in Blackpool
from Friday as the Winter Gardens makes
a historic return to the political scene.

The Grade II listed landmark once
regularly hosted national party conferences,
but fell out of favour when its ageing facilities failed
to meet modern day standards.
It is nearly 15 years since the last national
party political conference was held in the
resort when the Conservatives met for
their main October gathering in 2007.]

You're right. I'd hate for a tory to ever to be accountable for a single ruinous act they've committed.

Yellow virus

[As part of the government's decision, Mr Eustice
said thiamethoxam could only be used once
a virus threshold had been reached,
to ensure use "only if necessary".

British Sugar successfully applied for
an exemption to allow the banned pesticide
to be used in England this year because of
the threat posed by yellow virus.]

Liz Truss says it's 'time to end' questioning of British history and shut down
'ludicrous debates' on people's preferred pronouns at Tory conference

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said it was 'time to end' the so-called culture wars
Said UK's response to Ukraine war showed it was time to restore Britain's values
Ms Truss, who is also the Government's equalities minister, was speaking at Tory Party's spring conference in Blackpool
View was echoed by Boris Johnson speech where he said: 'We don't need to be woke, we just want to be free'

The comments come after Brexit minister Jacob Rees-Mogg, during an
appearance at the resort conference on Friday, said it was time to 'get away
from the wokery that has beset huge sections of society'.
