[Police have released details of a "person of interest" they
are searching for following a shooting
on a rush-hour subway train in New York.
Ten people were injured when a gunman
in a construction vest donned a surgical mask,
set off two smoke canisters, and shot
at fellow passengers.
The train had been in Brooklyn between 59th Street
and 36th Street stations at 8.24am,
heading towards Manhattan.

The attacker fired a handgun 33 times,
and a 9mm semiautomatic weapon, hatchet,
a liquid thought to be gasoline,
and fireworks were found after the attack.

A further 13 people were injured in
the aftermath of the attack - either through smoke
inhalation or in the rush to escape,
New York's police commissioner Keechant Sewell said,
adding that all of those injured are
expected to recover.

The person of interest is Frank R James, 62,
who has addresses in Philadelphia and Wisconsin,
and was wearing a orange neon vest
and grey sweatshirt.

Police also found a U-haul van linked to the attack,
which is believed to have been rented by him.]
