Delving into the terms, she said both forms emerged in the UK in the 1970s. In Australia, the “overwhelmingly dominant form” is spag bol which rates an entry in the dictionary. Those of us who are in the spag bog camp might be showing signs of a British influence.

L.T., what the hell? Do you normally eat pasta out of your bog seat? Does the bleach and poo residue add to the taste in a way wine and garlic can’t?
What kind of gypo calls it spag bog lol

I forgot that the Brits are the original owners of spag. bol. (which is in itself a foreign dish).
That’s like beefing with Nigerians and Indians over eating jollof rice and biryani (respectively) with spoons because you’ve been conditioned to believe that the only rice dish that should be eaten with that utensil is rice pudding.
Rice and pasta ain’t nothing to do with the British Isles in the first place so whatever quintessential “British” way to call it is irrelevant. A bonafide Italian would laugh at this conversation, so er … yh.

I think I’ll pass on the spag. bog., still. Bleach and traces of mouse droppings don’t count towards my idea of a good pasta meal and I don’t know anyone else in the world who’d envision that as a good meal if we were all to call

The last time I had ‘tea’ was when I lived at home with my mum and dad
Do you throw your pasta at the wall to check if it's done?
