This will be an embarrassment, ITV dont know how to make good reality tv. We are going to get a typical PG Big Brother Australia season

I can’t appreciate some of where the naysayers are coming from considering how poorly the show was treated by Channel 5. That said I honestly believe ITV’s intentions here are honest. They’d be stupid not to take this opportunity to give fans what we’ve been asking for. I’m sure there will be questionable decisions along the way but they aren’t planning on making the show a TOWIE or Love Island clone. If they wanted another Love Island it would be much cheaper to come up with their own format. Also considering they plan on targeting the show at the Love Island democratic it will be far from PG.

The show is intended to air straight after Love Island. No point in just having Love Island in a TV studio in Borehamwood (or wherever). It has to be something different to match the location used.

It doesn’t have to be anything that ITV doesn’t want it to be. If they wanted to make it Love Island 2.0 they could. I don’t think they will but it’s possible.

please no, he is much more in his comfort zone over at strictly
would rather have him take over from Tess and her generic bland jokes on strictly's main show
those potential convo's between Craig and Rylan would be a delight and tv gold :flutter:
Omg maybe Rylan is hosting it!
No thanks
I’d prefer Maya Jama and that guy in BB5 or BB6 who was ‘different’ and used to talk directly to the cameras

Tbf to Rylan I think that he has heavily campaigned for the Show's return, so I'm grateful to him for that.
And in fairness he can't do worse than Brian Dowling (who I actually like so I'm not hating on him) but Rylan would have to be especially bad to be worse at fronting the Show than Brian imo.

Quite - he's gone through a divorce, been hospitalised for a stretch of time, and saw his mum suffering particularly bad from her Crohn's all since I last seen him on TV.
Not saying all that would make him a completely different person or anything, but y'know.

Big Brother rumours discussed again on this morning with Rylan today. This is the 3rd or 4th time mentioned on ITV, so it feels as though they keep mentioning to keep the hype up for the eventual confirmation its back.. ITV would have put a stop to rumour talk by now if it wasn't actually happening baring in mind its their channels being rumoured.

It's not as straightforward as when BB moved to Channel 5. BB still had a house at Elstree and they had renewed the planning permission for a further 3 years. Only the fine details and costs had to be discussed.
This time they have the big issue of where it's going to be filmed. They could even (as with I'm A Celebrity) film it downunder and still have live eviction votes. Just no live audience.

The house location would be one of the last things they’d need to negotiate: It’s definitely not something that needs to be agreed upon before a contract can be signed.
The house at Elstree definitely meant Channel 5 signing on for BB meant it was turn key operation but likely had no impact on whether they signed the contract in the first place.

But it may be why there has been no announcement either way, which is what fans are waiting for.
ITV may well have said yes, we want it, and agreed the dates and the budget but until they have a venue sorted out they won't make a formal announcement. Studio space has to be booked well in advance and it they lose it then no show.

[According to Broadcast, ITV intend for the
revived show to have a ‘back-to-basics’ approach,
with the broadcaster hoping that Big Brother
could become younger skewing event TV in a
scale similar to that of Love Island.]
Yes that makes the Show Cheaper
They could try F, Suet Pudding , Scouse
The F
is a banned word
Can not write that word in tibb

The show isn’t likely to launch until some time in late summer or early fall of 2023. If the show is confirmed later this year it leaves tonnes of time to find a location. BB no longer requires a purpose built facility and can use a number of locations including an actual house. BBCAN has moved several times with just a few months notice and so has BBAU. ITV/Banijay will find something when the time comes.
I’d say at this point the reason we haven’t heard anything is that there simply isn’t a rush to finalize a contract. The show is at least 13 to 14 months from launch so there’s just no sense of urgency in confirming anything at this point.

The original show got up and running very quickly. The Dutch show finished in December 1999, Channel 4 announced their first series in March 2000 and the series began in July.

also our comeback was there pretty quickly with a new house, near the johan cruijff arena in amsterdam
even renovations got made pretty easily comparing 2021 to this year, i prefer this years series big time, it had me hooked with every tv episode, especially the ''back to basics'' week when hm's were split up in either Green or Gold bedrooms, and waking up to a wall being in the middle of the house and backyard
also comparing BB voices 2021 and 2022, i prefer the stricter BB of this year
in terms of no outside world contacts that was done properly here, since they were all in shock when they first found out about russia's invasion in ukraine for example or when covid restrictions were lifted which they were also unaware of before back to reality week

Does it have Good Security,
yes
but we only had audience for the final, all other shows were done by presenters from a normal tv studio-ish location, big enough for them to also interview the evicted hm the moment after they left the house

No worries. I honestly wasn’t sure. If you were agreeing then yes the show can move fast when it wants to but in this case they are taking their time. I don’t expect to hear anything about the house or it’s location until sometime in spring of 2023.
As Brekkie suggested ITV Studios Bovingdon could be a good location either with something purpose built or in one of the two existing studios.
According to this video the original BBAU house was constructed from the ground up in about 7 weeks. Depending on how long it takes for permits etc. they could easily have a house in a matter of about 3 to 6 months.
